Akkodis ASP Team has completed its driver roster for the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), confirming the two Silver-rated racers who will round out its LMGT3 programme.
The French squad will once again field two Lexus RC F LMGT3 entries as it aims to build on a breakthrough campaign that established the team as a genuine contender in the highly competitive category.
Schmid returns to the #87 Lexus as David joins #78 as Akkodis takes on 2026 WEC LMGT3 campaign
Akkodis has retained Clemens Schmid for the #87 Lexus entry, ensuring the car will enter the new season with an unchanged driver line-up. The Austrian will continue alongside Petru Umbrărescu and two-time world champion José María López. Together, the trio will attempt to build on a successful 2025 campaign that produced victories in São Paulo and Sakhir, ultimately securing third place in the LMGT3 standings.
Schmid has become a central figure within the Jérôme Policand-led team over the past two seasons. The 35-year-old has consistently delivered strong performances while contributing valuable technical insight and experience in endurance racing. His return therefore provides stability for the #87 crew as Akkodis prepares for another championship challenge.
While the #87 Lexus retains continuity, the sister #78 entry will feature a completely new driver combination. Tom Van Rompuy and Esteban Masson had already been confirmed for the car. Now, Akkodis has added another new name to the line-up with the signing of rising French talent Hadrien David.
At just 21 years old, David arrives with an impressive list of achievements. He recently captured the Le Mans Cup LMP3 championship and also claimed runner-up honours in the GT4 European Series Silver Cup during the 2025 season with Matmut Évolution, a team also operated by Jérôme Policand.
David’s opportunity with Akkodis gathered momentum during the FIA WEC Rookie Test in Bahrain last month. During that session, the young driver set the pace in the LMGT3 category while testing the Lexus for the first time. That performance helped secure his place in the team’s 2026 driver line-up.
As a result, David will make his FIA WEC debut when the new season begins.
