Rodin Motorsport has confirmed Gabriel Gomez as the final piece of its driver line-up for the 2026 FIA Formula Regional European Championship (FREC).

As a result, the Brazilian steps into one of the most competitive junior categories in Europe, continuing his rapid rise through the single-seater ranks. The move also highlights Rodin Motorsport’s intent to field a strong and competitive squad, which includes Alex Ninovic and Reza Seewooruthun, for the upcoming season.

Rapid progression from karting to single-seaters

Gomez built his early reputation in karting, where he quickly established himself as a front-running talent. Notably, he secured the 2020 Brazilian Karting Championship title in the OKJ category before making the transition to European competition.

He continued to impress internationally, finishing third in the WSK Open Cup in 2022. Furthermore, he demonstrated consistency at the highest level by finishing runner-up in the European Karting Championships in both 2023 and 2024.

After making his debut in single-seaters in 2023, Gomez stepped up to a full-time campaign in the Spanish F4 Championship in 2024, where he gained valuable experience. However, his 2025 season marked a significant breakthrough. He claimed nine podiums, including three victories, to win the Formula Winter Series title.

In addition, he secured eleven podium finishes in the Italian F4 Championship to finish second overall, while also taking five podiums and another runner-up position in the E4 Championship. Therefore, his performances highlighted both his speed and consistency across multiple categories.

Gomez and Rodin confident ahead of 2026 FIA FREC campaign

Gomez expressed clear excitement about the opportunity to join Rodin Motorsport and take the next step in his career:

“I’m super happy and excited to be joining this great team for the FIA FREC season, which is another great opportunity to my career to keep pushing and aiming every time more. I want to thank Rodin for the opportunity and to everyone who has made it possible. I’m sure we can do a great season together.”

Meanwhile, Benn Huntingford, Sporting Director of Rodin Motorsport, highlighted the Brazilian’s proven speed and potential:

“He’s shown from early on that he’s got genuine pace and the ability to convert it into podiums and championships. It’s been a promising start in single-seaters, and Formula Regional will be a good step to continue that progression.”

Looking ahead, the 2026 FIA FREC represents a crucial stage in Gomez’s development. With a proven track record in both karting and junior formulae, he arrives well-prepared for the challenge.

Therefore, as he joins Rodin Motorsport, Gomez carries strong momentum into a championship that will test his ability against some of the world’s most promising young drivers.
