All the drivers took to the track for the first Formula E FP2 session of the day in Madrid. Pascal Wehrlein leads the championship following his Jeddah Round 4 race win, as well as a bold pole in Sao Paulo. Five different drivers have taken the first five race wins, for a very undecided first few rounds.
Cupra Kiro’s Dan Ticktum had taken the top spot in yesterday’s first practice session.
It was a mixed conditions session, as the track was still damp. Several drivers suffered from lack of grip and spun out. However, no accident was serious enough to warrant a red flag.
It’s the first official race at the track, following the 2024 debut as placeholder for Valencia in the testing session. At the time, the Spanish track had to forfeit because of the major adverse weather conditions.
