Victor Martins kept Alpine Endurance Team at the top of the FIA World Endurance Championship timesheets during a wet FP3 for the 2026 6 Hours of Fuji.
Martins set a 1:40.594 aboard the #36 Alpine A424 to finish only 0.075s ahead of Harry Tincknell in the #007 Aston Martin Valkyrie. The sister #009 Aston Martin completed the top three as the British manufacturer demonstrated strong pace in the difficult conditions.
Meanwhile, Charlie Eastwood put the #34 Racing Team Turkey by TF Chevrolet Corvette Z06 LMGT3.R at the top of LMGT3 with a late 1:51.232.
Wet conditions change the order at Fuji
Teams faced an entirely different challenge when they returned to Fuji Speedway for the final Practice session on Saturday.
After completing Friday’s running in dry conditions, rain left the circuit fully wet for FP3. The change gave teams valuable running on wet-weather tyres but also produced a significantly different competitive order.
Toyota Gazoo Racing had opened its home weekend at the front during FP1 at Fuji, before Alpine responded to lead Friday afternoon’s FP2.
The French manufacturer maintained that momentum on Saturday morning.
Martins moved the #36 Alpine to the top with a 1:40.594. His time came during the closing stages of the session and ensured Alpine led its second consecutive Practice session with a different car.
The #35 Alpine had set Friday’s overall benchmark through Paul-Loup Chatin, while Martins took over at the front in the wet.
Aston Martin puts both Valkyries inside top three
Aston Martin THOR Team emerged as Alpine’s closest challenger as both Valkyries finished inside the top three.
Tincknell produced a late 1:40.669 aboard the #007 Aston Martin to finish only 0.075s behind Martins.
However, his session included an earlier incident with the #27 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage AMR LMGT3.
Contact between the two cars damaged the left sidepod of the #007 Valkyrie and scattered debris across the circuit. Race Control subsequently stopped the session with a red flag.
Despite the damage, the #007 returned to the track before Tincknell improved to second during the closing stages.
The sister #009 Valkyrie followed in third, putting both Aston Martins directly behind the leading Alpine.
The result marked a significant improvement for Aston Martin after both cars remained outside the leading group during Friday’s dry running.
Peugeot and Genesis feature inside top five
Peugeot TotalEnergies also demonstrated competitive wet-weather pace with the #94 Peugeot 9X8.
The French manufacturer finished fourth as teams completed their final preparations before Qualifying and Hyperpole.
Genesis Magma Racing followed in fifth with the #19 GMR-001, continuing its preparations during its first FIA WEC appearance at Fuji.
The second Alpine completed the top six. The #35 A424 had led FP2 through Chatin’s 1:29.551 but could not replicate that position after the conditions changed on Saturday.
Genesis also placed its second Hypercar inside the leading group, with the sister GMR-001 taking seventh.
The results left both Alpine and Genesis with two cars inside the top seven.
Toyota finishes eighth at home
Toyota could not reproduce the pace that carried it to the top during FP1.
The #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid finished eighth as the Japanese manufacturer completed its final Practice running before Qualifying at its home event.
BMW M Team WRT followed in ninth with the #15 BMW M Hybrid V8, while the #50 Ferrari AF Corse Ferrari 499P completed the top 10.
Ferrari had remained near the front during Friday’s dry running, with the #50 taking third in FP1 before finishing second behind Alpine during FP2.
However, the wet conditions reshuffled the order and left the Italian manufacturer outside the leading group during the final Practice session.
The varying conditions across the three sessions have therefore produced several different competitive pictures. Toyota led in the dry during FP1, Alpine moved ahead during FP2 and remained at the front after rain arrived for FP3.
Difficult conditions cause several incidents
The wet circuit also caught out several drivers as they searched for grip.
The contact between the #007 Aston Martin Hypercar and #27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin LMGT3 entry produced the most significant interruption when debris triggered a red flag.
Sébastien Bourdais also spun the #38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA V-Series.R but avoided significant damage.
Later in the session, Bourdais made contact with Finn Gehrsitz aboard the #58 Garage 59 McLaren 720S LMGT3 Evo.
The incidents highlighted the difficult conditions as drivers attempted to prepare for the remainder of Saturday’s running.
With Qualifying following later in the day, teams also had to balance gathering useful wet-weather data against avoiding damage before the competitive sessions.
Eastwood puts Corvette on top in LMGT3
LMGT3 produced a late change at the front as Eastwood moved the #34 Racing Team Turkey by TF Corvette to the top.
Eastwood recorded a 1:51.232 during the closing stages to secure the class benchmark.
The lap displaced the #69 Team WRT BMW M4 LMGT3 Evo, which had previously occupied first place through Parker Thompson’s 1:51.564.
Proton Competition continued its competitive weekend with the #88 Ford Mustang LMGT3 in third.
The Ford had set the LMGT3 benchmark during FP2 and remained among the leading cars despite the move from dry to wet conditions.
The #54 VISTA AF Corse Ferrari 296 LMGT3 followed in fourth, while the #33 TF Sport Corvette completed the top five.
As a result, four different manufacturers occupied the first four positions.
Three manufacturers lead LMGT3 Practice sessions
Eastwood’s performance also meant that each of the three Practice sessions produced a different LMGT3-leading manufacturer.
United Autosports opened the weekend at the front when the #59 McLaren 720S LMGT3 Evo led FP1.
Proton Competition then moved Ford to the top during Friday afternoon’s FP2 before Corvette completed Practice at the head of the field.
The changing order has provided little indication of a clear favourite ahead of Qualifying.
The wet conditions also complicated comparisons between FP3 and Friday’s sessions. However, the final Practice gave teams valuable information should similar weather return later in the weekend.

Alpine therefore completed Practice with the fastest Hypercar in two consecutive sessions after Toyota had led the opening running on Friday.
Martins’ 1:40.594 gave the #36 Alpine the final Practice benchmark, but Aston Martin emerged as a significant threat in the wet. Only 0.075s separated Tincknell from the top, while the sister Valkyrie completed the leading three.
LMGT3 remained equally unpredictable. Corvette became the third manufacturer to lead a Practice session this weekend after McLaren and Ford topped FP1 and FP2 respectively.
With Practice complete, attention now turns towards Qualifying and Hyperpole as teams begin competing for their starting positions for the 2026 6 Hours of Fuji.
