Fausto Arnaudo strengthened his hold on the 2026 Brazilian F4 Drivers’ Championship during the category’s first visit to the newly homologated Autódromo Internacional de Brasília, winning two of the three races and finishing second in the other.

The Cavaleiro Sports driver entered Round 4 with a 22-point lead over Bernardo Gentil and left the capital 51 clear. Arnaudo won the opening race after Alexandre Louza lost the lead through a jump-start penalty before charging from eighth to second in the reversed-grid contest and passing Celo Hahn to win Race 3.

Gentil claimed the remaining victory after holding off Arnaudo in Race 2, while Hahn enjoyed one of his strongest weekends of the season with outright pole and two runner-up finishes. Fabrício Fogaça also impressed on his return to the championship, taking two overall podiums and setting the fastest lap in all three races.

Qualifying: Hahn edges Arnaudo to Brasília pole

Hahn produced one of the closest Qualifying victories of the season to claim outright pole for the final race of the weekend.

The TMG Racing driver recorded a 1:54.239 and beat championship leader Arnaudo by just 0.023s. Gentil completed the top three only 0.120s away from pole, demonstrating how tightly matched the leading cars were around the newly homologated Brasília circuit.

However, the opening race used each driver’s second-fastest Qualifying lap to determine the grid. That system placed Louza on pole for Race 1 and gave the Cavaleiro Sports driver his first pole of the season.

Qualifying Classification — Top three

  1. #1 Celo Hahn — 1:54.239
  2. #37 Fausto Arnaudo — +0.023
  3. #88 Bernardo Gentil — +0.120

Race 1: Arnaudo capitalises on Louza penalty

Louza initially made the most of his Race 1 pole and retained the lead at the start, although officials immediately placed him under investigation for moving before the lights went out.

He spent the opening lap defending from Fogaça, allowing Arnaudo to move into second. Behind them, the difficult opening sequence created problems for several drivers. Gianni Giovanelli became stranded after going off at the final corner, while Gentil also left the circuit and damaged his front wing.

Officials initially deployed the Safety Car before red-flagging the race for approximately 20 minutes while marshals cleared the circuit. During the stoppage, temporary cones appeared at the penultimate corner after several drivers had cut that section during the opening lap.

Once racing resumed, Arnaudo immediately attacked Louza and moved into the lead at Turn 3. Hahn also passed Fogaça for third before inheriting second when Louza served the drive-through penalty imposed for his jump start.

Arnaudo then controlled the remaining laps and secured his fifth victory of the season. Hahn finished 2.106s behind in second, while Fogaça took third overall and the Rookie victory.

Mesquita finished close behind Fogaça in fourth, with Lins fifth. Gentil recovered from his early problems to finish sixth.

Race 2: Gentil withstands Arnaudo pressure

The second race moved from Saturday to Sunday morning following changes to the weekend schedule, placing Alan Soloviov on reverse-grid pole.

Soloviov could not retain the position through the opening lap. Gentil moved into the lead, with Lins taking second and the polesitter dropping to third. Behind them, Arnaudo immediately began recovering from eighth.

The championship leader passed Luiz Queiroz and Soloviov in quick succession and reached third by lap four, with Mesquita following closely behind. Arnaudo then caught Lins and completed the move for second into Turn 1 on lap seven.

Mesquita and Fogaça also passed Lins on the following lap, while Arnaudo began closing rapidly on Gentil. The pair appeared set for a fight over the closing laps, but Giovanelli crashed at the exit of Turn 3 and brought out the Safety Car.

With insufficient time to restart, the race finished under yellow. Gentil therefore claimed his second victory of the season by only 0.222s over Arnaudo, while Mesquita completed the podium.

Fogaça took fourth and again demonstrated his speed by setting the fastest lap. Lins completed the top five ahead of Queiroz, Hahn and Soloviov.

Race 3: Arnaudo passes Hahn to complete Brasília double

Hahn returned to the front for the final race after his outright Qualifying pole and retained the advantage during the opening moments.

However, the first lap quickly required intervention when Soloviov and Díaz both became stranded at Turn 3. The Safety Car entered the circuit, while Soloviov could not continue.

Arnaudo attacked immediately after the restart. He passed Hahn at Turn 3 and quickly began creating an advantage, leaving the TMG Racing driver to defend second while the battle for the final podium position developed behind.

Abreu fell down the order after spinning from sixth, while Louza encountered a more serious problem when he lost his rear wing. Race control instructed the Cavaleiro Sports driver to return to the pits, but he continued circulating and officials ultimately disqualified him.

Arnaudo remained clear of the incidents and completed 16 laps in 33:48.797 to claim his sixth victory from nine Brazilian F4 starts. Hahn finished 4.808s behind for his second runner-up result of the weekend.

Fogaça completed another strong race by passing Gentil late on to secure third. Mesquita also moved ahead of Gentil and took fourth, leaving the championship challenger fifth.

TMG Racing remains first with 336 points after Gentil’s Race 2 victory, Hahn’s two runner-up finishes and Mesquita’s consistent scoring. However, Cavaleiro Sports reduced the deficit to only 13 points after Arnaudo and Fogaça combined for four podium finishes across the weekend.

Penalty summary

Louza received the most significant penalties of the Brasília weekend. Officials handed him a drive-through in Race 1 for jumping the start, turning an early lead into a 10th-place finish.

His weekend ended with a disqualification in Race 3 after his rear wing became detached. Race control instructed Louza to pit because of the damage, but he continued on track and received the black flag.

Race 1 also featured a penalty for Barbosa after he exceeded track limits, while the weekend’s opening contest required a lengthy red flag as officials addressed incidents and concerns around drivers cutting the penultimate corner.

Outlook for the 2026 Brazilian F4 season after Round 4

Four rounds into the season, Arnaudo has established a substantial championship advantage despite missing the opening event entirely. His six victories from nine starts have carried him to 185 points and a 51-point cushion over Gentil.

However, the battles behind him remain considerably closer. Only five points separate Gentil and Mesquita in second and third, while Hahn has moved to within 29 points of Mesquita after his strongest weekend of the campaign.

The Teams’ Championship remains even tighter. TMG Racing leads Cavaleiro Sports by only 13 points, meaning Arnaudo’s dominance has not yet translated into control of the team classification.

Gentil also remains firmly in command among the rookies, but Brasília demonstrated the growing strength of Fogaça. Two overall podiums and three fastest laps made the Cavaleiro Sports driver one of the standout performers of Round 4 alongside Arnaudo.

Arnaudo again emerged with the largest points haul, winning Races 1 and 3 and finishing only 0.222s behind Gentil in Race 2. Hahn claimed pole and twice finished second, while Fogaça converted his pace into two podiums and all three fastest laps.

The results leave Arnaudo 51 points clear in the Drivers’ Championship, while TMG Racing retains only a 13-point advantage over Cavaleiro Sports in the Teams’ standings. Gentil continues to dominate the Rookie classification as Brazilian F4 moves beyond the halfway point of its 2026 campaign.
