Tigani Motorsport has unveiled a special 7-Eleven-themed livery for its debut at the 2026 FIA GT World Cup in Macau, where Mercedes-AMG factory driver Lucas Auer will compete aboard the team’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.
The Australian outfit has collaborated with Hong Kong-based model car manufacturer Pop Race to create the distinctive design, which takes inspiration from the convenience store chain’s familiar branding. The Mercedes-AMG will carry race number 711, providing another reference to 7-Eleven.
The announcement comes as Tigani Motorsport prepares for its first appearance at the Guia Circuit on 19–22 November. The team will form part of Mercedes-AMG’s three-car entry alongside Craft-Bamboo Racing, with Auer making his first GT3 appearance at the demanding street circuit.
Tigani Motorsport reveals special 7-Eleven Macau livery
Tigani Motorsport’s new design represents a significant departure from its usual racing colours, incorporating 7-Eleven’s distinctive branding into the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.
The livery was developed through a collaboration with Pop Race, a Hong Kong-based manufacturer of collectible model cars. The partnership brings together motorsport and model car culture ahead of one of international GT racing’s most prestigious events.
In addition to the design, the team has selected race number 711 in recognition of the convenience store chain, creating a distinctive identity for its first Macau appearance.
The collaboration also highlights the significance of the event for Tigani Motorsport, which is expanding its international activities after establishing itself in Australian GT racing.
The team’s participation will mark its second overseas racing appearance, following its entry in the Gulf 12 Hours at Yas Marina Circuit in December 2025.
Its latest programme presents a different challenge, with the narrow, barrier-lined Guia Circuit requiring a considerably different approach from the permanent circuits on which the Australian outfit usually competes.
Nathan Tigani reflects on major milestone for Australian team
Team founder Nathan Tigani welcomed the opportunity to represent Mercedes-AMG at Macau, highlighting the organisation’s rapid development and its growing presence in international GT racing.
The Australian squad has established itself through GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS and the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour, gaining experience with Mercedes-AMG GT3 machinery before expanding its programme overseas.
Tigani described the FIA GT World Cup as an important milestone for the organisation, particularly given Mercedes-AMG’s successful history at the event.
“Tigani Motorsport has quickly established itself as the preeminent Mercedes-AMG team in Australia,” Tigani said.
“As an official Mercedes-AMG Performance Team, we’re immensely proud to be representing the brand on the world’s biggest stage.
“Macau represents a major milestone for our team. The FIA GT World Cup is without a doubt among the biggest GT prizes in the world.
“Mercedes-AMG has an incredible record and to be one of just two teams representing the brand at Macau is a privilege and an honor.
“To have ‘Luggi’ [Auer] join us at Macau will be a pleasure and we’ll do everything that we can to make sure he has the best opportunity to win.”
His comments underline Tigani Motorsport’s ambitions for its first appearance at the event. Rather than simply gaining experience, the team intends to provide Auer with a competitive package capable of challenging the established Macau specialists.
Mercedes-AMG returns to Macau with three-car effort
Tigani Motorsport will be one of two teams representing Mercedes-AMG at the 2026 FIA GT World Cup, joining Craft-Bamboo Racing as the German manufacturer returns following its absence in 2025.
Craft-Bamboo will operate two Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evos, with four-time Macau GT race winner Maro Engel driving the #77 entry and Hong Kong racer Adderly Fong competing in the #76 car.
Auer will complete the manufacturer’s line-up in Tigani Motorsport’s #711 Mercedes-AMG, giving the brand three opportunities to challenge for victory.
Mercedes-AMG has an extensive history at the Guia Circuit, having secured nine GT race victories and five manufacturers’ titles since GT3 competition became established at Macau.
Its return also strengthens the 2026 FIA GT World Cup entry list, which features 18 cars from eight manufacturers.
Although Engel and Fong bring considerable experience of Macau, Auer will face a different challenge as he prepares for his first GT3 race at the venue.
Auer prepares for first GT3 outing at Guia Circuit
Auer will return to Macau for the first time since 2014, when he competed in the Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix and finished runner-up to Felix Rosenqvist.
The Austrian therefore has previous experience of the 6.120-kilometre Guia Circuit, although he has never competed there in GT3 machinery.
Since his last appearance, Auer has established himself among Mercedes-AMG’s leading GT drivers, competing in the DTM and international GT championships. His extensive experience with the GT3 Evo will provide an important foundation as he prepares to tackle Macau’s demanding layout.
However, the combination of narrow streets, high-speed sections and limited opportunities for overtaking will present a different challenge from the circuits on which he regularly competes.
Auer expressed his enthusiasm about returning to the event, recognising the significance of making his GT3 debut at Macau.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be returning to Macau,” Auer said. “It is simply an incredible event and something very special for every driver. That makes me even more excited about my first GT3 outing on the Guia Circuit in November.
“I’ll be making intensive use of the time between now and then to prepare as best as possible, with simulator sessions as well as extensive video and data analysis.”
Simulator work forms important part of Macau preparations
With limited opportunities to test at Macau before the event, Auer intends to rely heavily on simulator running and detailed analysis to prepare for his return.
The Guia Circuit combines long straights with technical mountain sections, demanding precise braking and positioning throughout the lap. Its narrow sections also leave drivers with little room for error, particularly when navigating traffic or attempting overtakes.
Although Auer has previous experience of the circuit from Formula 3, adapting to the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo will require a different approach to braking, cornering and managing the car’s performance.
His preparation will therefore focus on translating his existing knowledge of the venue into a competitive GT3 performance.
Tigani Motorsport will also need to adapt its operations to the demands of a street circuit, where interruptions and track position can significantly influence the outcome.
The team can draw on its experience in Australian GT racing and longer-distance events, although Macau’s sprint format will create a different set of strategic priorities.
Tigani Motorsport targets competitive FIA GT World Cup debut
The 2026 FIA GT World Cup will take place as part of the 73rd Macau Grand Prix, bringing together leading drivers and manufacturers for one of the most demanding events on the international GT calendar.
The programme begins on Thursday, 19 November, with practice sessions before Friday’s qualifying. Saturday’s ten-lap Qualification Race will determine the starting grid for Sunday’s 16-lap Main Race.
The event will also mark Mercedes-AMG’s return to the competition after a one-year absence, with the manufacturer aiming to build on its successful history at Macau.
For Tigani Motorsport, the weekend represents an opportunity to demonstrate its capabilities beyond Australian competition while working alongside one of the manufacturer’s most experienced GT drivers.
The team’s collaboration with Pop Race and its 7-Eleven-inspired livery will provide a distinctive appearance for its first Macau entry, but the focus will ultimately remain on delivering a competitive performance.
With Auer confirmed behind the wheel of the #711 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, Tigani Motorsport will now complete its preparations before making its FIA GT World Cup debut on 19–22 November.
