FP2 saw the full field return following the rookie outings in FP1. Pierre Gasly led the field onto the track, while Arvid Lindblad, Isack Hadjar, Oscar Piastri and Lewis Hamilton briefly topped the timesheets before Leclerc established a 1:18.257. Meanwhile, Haas encountered early difficulties as Esteban Ocon reported power-steering problems and Ollie Bearman suffered a software issue. Lando Norris also flat-spotted his medium tyres.

After 13 minutes, contact between Max Verstappen and Liam Lawson triggered a red flag, leaving debris on track and damaging Verstappen’s floor.

With 42 minutes remaining, running resumed as Norris switched to soft tyres and set a 1:18.161. However, another interruption followed with approximately 32 minutes remaining when Hamilton stopped between Turns 3 and 4 with a reported power issue, triggering a Virtual Safety Car.

Following the restart, Leclerc became the first driver to break into the 1:17s, before improving to 1:17.827. Norris followed with a 1:17.930, while George Russell and Kimi Antonelli also improved during their qualifying simulations.

With 20 minutes remaining, Verstappen returned after lengthy repairs and climbed to fifth despite lingering floor damage. Meanwhile, Gabriel Bortoleto finally joined the session with 12 minutes left, setting a 1:21.916 on medium tyres to place 22nd. Though he improved to 1:20.176, he remained last.

As teams transitioned into race simulations, Leclerc remained fastest ahead of Norris, Russell, Antonelli and Verstappen. Leclerc ultimate ended the session in P1.
