Rinus VeeKay will join Juncos Hollinger Racing for the 2026 IndyCar season. The Dutch driver leaves Dale Coyne Racing amidst an impressive season, scoring a podium at the IndyCar Toronto GP.

VeeKay declined contract offer from Dale Coyne Racing

It was announced that VeeKay declined a contract offer from Dale Coyne Racing to retain his seat for 2026. The team is also changing its #51 entry back to #19.

In a media session, team owner Dale Coyne stated, “We will have our lineup announced by Halloween.”

Dennis Hauger has already been confirmed. Romain Grosjean is likely to be in the other car, according to those in the know.

VeeKay’s racing history in IndyCar prior to Juncos Hollinger Racing

VeeKay began his IndyCar career with Ed Carpenter Racing in 2020, after finishing runner-up in the Indy Lights championship. He scored his first podium at the 2020 Indy GP, finishing P3. VeeKay became the 2020 IndyCar Rookie of the Year.

VeeKay continued his career at Ed Carpenter Racing. In 2021, he scored his first win with Ed Carpenter Racing at the Indy GP. This was the team’s first win since Josef Newgarden in 2016 — five years ago.

The Dutch driver continued to impress in the midfield, scoring a podium in Alabama and top five finish in Iowa. Unfortunately for him, VeeKay was replaced by former Arrow McLaren driver Alexander Rossi at the end of the 2024 season. The news came as a surprise to VeeKay, who was reportedly undergoing contract negotiations with the team.

VeeKay eventually signed to Dale Coyne Racing for the 2025 season. The Dutch driver took home a top five finish in Alabama and scored the team’s first podium since 2023.

Now, VeeKay will start a new chapter of his career with Juncos Hollinger Racing. Let’s see how the cards unfold for the remainder of the 2026 IndyCar grid.
