Rodin Motorsport’s Gianmarco Pradel capped off his weekend in style by taking a second win in the 2025 GB3 Championship partnered by the BRDC. Starting from pole in the reverse-grid finale, the Australian controlled the race from lights to flag, leading every lap on his way to a decisive victory at Silverstone.
Fast start for Pradel
Pradel launched strongly from pole and immediately established himself at the head of the field. Jack Sherwood slotted into second for Xcel Motorsport, with Kai Daryanani and Enzo Tarnvanichkul forming the second row behind them. The rest of the top six — including Noah Lisle and Reza Seewooruthun — held station as the pack settled in for the early laps.
Behind the leading group, Patrick Heuzenroeder made rapid progress, climbing from ninth to seventh in the opening corners. At the same time, Abbi Pulling also gained three spots, moving into the top ten just ahead of championship leader Alex Ninovic, who was already beginning his climb from 11th on the grid.
Early drama shakes the order
The first major flashpoint arrived on lap two. Lisle launched an attack on Tarnvanichkul through Vale and Club, while Heuzenroeder attempted to take advantage and pass both cars. Instead, he ran wide at Village, dropping down the order to 16th and undoing his early gains. At the same time, Ninovic began cutting through the midfield. The Rodin driver slipped into eighth, just behind Pulling, as Yuanpu Cui fell back to the tail end of the top 10. Further forward, Seewooruthun made decisive progress, passing Daryanani to claim fourth place by the halfway stage. That move freed him to chase the podium positions, with Sherwood in his sights.
By lap seven, Ninovic continued his march. A DRS-assisted pass on Michael Shin at the end of the Hangar Straight moved him into seventh. Just one lap later, Seewooruthun pulled off one of the moves of the race, sweeping around the outside of Sherwood at Stowe to claim second place.
Lisle was also on the move, passing Tarnvanichkul for fifth before Ninovic opportunistically followed him through into sixth. The pair continued their surge forward, keeping themselves in contention for a late podium challenge.
Late race battles
With two laps to go, Pradel and Seewooruthun looked secure in the top two places. However, the fight for third ignited once more. Daryanani attempted to reclaim a podium spot with a bold move on Sherwood at Vale. Their duel slowed both cars, allowing Lisle to pounce for third and Ninovic to seize fourth.
Behind them, Pulling enjoyed a bold late charge, pulling off a spectacular double move on Shin and Tarnvanichkul on lap 10 to secure seventh. Tarnvanichkul held on for eighth, while Shin’s race unravelled after contact with Keanu Al Azhari left the Hitech driver without a front wing. That allowed Will Macintyre to slip into ninth, while Shin salvaged 10th.
Championship picture
Pradel crossed the line nearly two seconds clear of Seewooruthun to seal his second win of the season. Lisle completed the podium, with Ninovic close behind in fourth. Sherwood and Daryanani regrouped to finish fifth and sixth respectively.
Further back, Heuzenroeder recovered to 12th after his early off, while both Fairclough and Al Azhari retired after separate incidents. The result means Ninovic re-extends his championship advantage to 39 points over Heuzenroeder, with Pradel just seven further behind.
