Nikita Bedrin is set to embark on a new challenge in 2026. After a successful stint in various racing categories, Bedrin will compete in the GB3 Championship with VRD Racing. Known for his consistent podium finishes across multiple series, including Formula 4, Formula Regional Middle East, and the FIA Formula 3 Championship, Bedrin has proven himself to be a talented and adaptable driver.
“I’m really excited to be joining VRD Racing for the 2026 GB3 Championship,” said Bedrin. “After some very positive testing where we showed strong pace in both wet and dry conditions, it’s clear that we have a strong foundation to build on heading into the season, and I feel confident in our potential together.”
A diverse and impressive racing background
Bedrin’s journey to the GB3 Championship has been marked by success at every step. Beginning his career in karting, he clinched eight major titles, including the prestigious Italian Karting Championship in 2019 and the WSK Super Master Series in 2020. Thus, his success in karting laid the groundwork for a seamless transition into car racing.
In 2021, Bedrin made his mark in Formula 4, racing in the UAE, Italian, and ADAC championships. His performances were remarkable, with wins and podiums in both Italian and ADAC F4. In 2022, Bedrin continued his development in F4, taking victories in the F4 UAE Championship and securing a solid fourth-place finish in the ADAC Formula 4 Championship.
As Bedrin progressed through his career, he moved into more competitive categories. In 2023, he joined the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Jenzer Motorsport, collecting podium finishes at the Hungaroring and Spa-Francorchamps. Therefore, his resilience in the face of tough competition showcased his growing ability to excel under pressure. He later returned to Formula Regional Europe and claimed multiple podiums in both the Middle East and European championships in 2024.
Looking forward with VRD Racing
After an eventful 2025 season, Bedrin has set his sights on a fresh challenge in the 2026 GB3 Championship. His decision to join VRD Racing comes after several successful tests with the team, where he demonstrated strong performance across varying conditions.
“VRD has a great environment and a very motivated group of people,” Bedrin added. “We’re all fully focused on working hard and pushing for the best possible results throughout the championship.”
For VRD Racing, signing Bedrin marks a significant milestone. Team Principal Dan Mitchell expressed his enthusiasm about having the young Russian driver on board for the 2026 season.
“Signing Nikita is a landmark moment in VRD Racing’s stint so far in the GB3 Championship. He joins the team and the series with considerable experience at this level, is a proven race winner, and will be a major asset for us as we aim to secure ever better results,” said Mitchell. “We’re all really looking forward to working with him in 2026, and I really hope we have plenty to celebrate at the end of the year.”
As Bedrin prepares for the 2026 GB3 Championship, all eyes will be on the talented Russian driver, who has already shown his potential in various junior formulae. With VRD Racing, he aims to add another title to his growing list of achievements, and fans can expect an exciting season ahead.
