CL Motorsport has announced the addition of Enea Frey to its driver line-up for the upcoming Formula Regional Middle East (FRME) Trophy. The talented Swiss driver will participate in the prestigious winter series, continuing his progression through single-seater racing. The FRME Trophy presents an excellent opportunity for Frey to gain crucial race experience and develop his skills ahead of the European season.
A key development opportunity
Frey, born on 9 October 2008 in Auenstein, Switzerland, has already shown his potential across various racing categories. Following his karting career, where he competed at the highest levels, Frey made his single-seater debut in 2024, joining Jenzer Motorsport in the Formula Winter Series and Italian F4 Championship. His performances have shown significant promise, making the FRME Trophy a natural next step in his development.
David Li, Team Owner Representative at CL Motorsport, expressed his excitement about Frey’s addition to the team: “We are very happy to welcome Enea to CL Motorsport for the Formula Regional Middle East Trophy. He is a motivated and focused driver with a strong work ethic, and we believe this programme is the right environment for him to grow and prepare for the challenges ahead. The Middle East Trophy is an intense and competitive championship, and we are confident Enea will make the most of this opportunity with the team.”
In response, Enea Frey shared his enthusiasm for the opportunity to race with CL Motorsport: “I’m really excited to join CL Motorsport for the Formula Regional Middle East Trophy. It’s a great chance to race during the winter, keep building experience, and work closely with a professional and ambitious team. I’m looking forward to starting this new chapter and giving my best on track.”
The FRME Trophy will provide Frey with invaluable track time and the chance to compete in a highly competitive environment. As part of the CL Motorsport team, Frey aims to maximise his performance, sharpen his skills, and prepare for the challenges of the European season ahead.
A rising star in motorsport
Frey’s career path to this point has been impressive. Beginning in karting, Frey quickly moved up the ranks, competing in various European series. Furthermore, his transition into single-seaters has seen him develop into a promising young driver, with notable performances in the Italian F4 Championship and the Euroformula Open Championship. His consistent progress, including a top-five finish at Barcelona in the Formula Winter Series, has earned him a spot with CL Motorsport, a team committed to supporting young talent in their motorsport journey.
CL Motorsport’s participation in the Formula Regional Middle East Trophy marks another step in its mission to nurture young drivers and help them reach the highest levels of racing. Therefore, with the FRME Trophy providing key preparation for the 2026 European racing season, Frey and CL Motorsport are poised for a successful winter campaign. Both are eager to take on the challenges ahead and lay a strong foundation for the seasons to come.
