TC Racing has confirmed the signing of Renzo Barbuy as its first driver for the revamped Eurocup-3 Championship, marking a major step for both the team and the young Argentinian prospect. At just 16 years old, Barbuy will take on his first European campaign after progressing from Formula 4 Brazil, one of South America’s toughest junior categories. Therefore, Barbuy now prepares to compete on some of Europe’s most iconic circuits as Eurocup-3 enters a new technical era in 2026.

From South America to Europe

Barbuy arrives in Europe following an impressive season in F4 Brazil, where he stood out as one of the youngest drivers on the grid. Throughout the campaign, he demonstrated strong race pace, consistency across varied conditions and a rapid ability to adapt to single-seater racing.

Before moving into cars, Barbuy built a solid karting résumé in Argentina. He claimed multiple provincial titles and delivered competitive performances at international level, establishing himself as one of the country’s most promising young drivers.

As a result, his step into Eurocup-3 represents a natural progression within the junior single-seater ladder.

For TC Racing, Barbuy’s arrival signals a defining moment as the team launches its Eurocup-3 programme. The 2026 season will also see the introduction of the Dallara 326 chassis, which features revised aerodynamics and technical adaptations tailored to the championship’s new power unit.

Team Principal Imanol Zubikarai expressed confidence in the young driver’s potential and the team’s long-term ambitions in Europe.

“We’re delighted to welcome Renzo to TC Racing. He’s a driver with clear talent and a strong future ahead of him. His move into Eurocup-3 aligns perfectly with our goal of growing as a team on the European stage. We expect his adaptation to be quick and successful.”

Barbuy embraces the challenge

Barbuy described the move as a major milestone in his career and welcomed the opportunity to learn within a highly competitive environment.

“I’m very happy to join TC Racing for Eurocup-3. This step represents a huge challenge and an entirely new experience for me. I want to learn as much as possible, improve with every session and make the most of this opportunity. I’m grateful to the team for believing in me.”
