Racing Bulls have confirmed that former Red Bull and Aston Martin man Dan Fallows will join the F1 squad in April as technical director.

From 2006-2021, the British engineer worked at Red Bull Racing, helping the team win five Drivers’ Championships and four Constructors’ Championships. As Chief Engineer for Aerodynamics from 2014, he also played a key part in designing the 2022 package before leaving the Milton Keynes-based squad.

Joining Aston Martin in early 2022, he became the team’s technical director. Following a stunning start to 2023 where Fernando Alonso scored six podiums in eight rounds and was the closest challenger to Red Bull and Max Verstappen on multiple occasions, the car performance dipped as the year went on.

A very disappointing 2024 campaign ultimately saw Fallows removed from his role in November of that year. Aston Martin scored no podiums. It was repeated in 2025, a car he also had a heavy influence on.

He would eventually leave the Aston Martin company in April 2025. Due to gardening leave, Dan Fallows will not start at Racing Bulls F1 until April as technical director.

“Reporting into Chief Technical Officer, Tim Goss, Dan will take responsibility for the overall technical direction of the team, working across design, aerodynamics and performance,” Racing Bulls said in their press release.

Dan Fallows reacts to joining Racing Bulls F1 as technical director:

“I’m very pleased to be joining VCARB at an exciting time for the team. There is a clear vision and strong technical ambition, and I’m looking forward to working closely with Tim and the wider engineering group to help drive performance and continue building the team for the future.”

Alan Permane, Team Principal said:

“Dan has a wealth of experience, and his technical understanding and leadership will be a real asset to the team as we continue to develop and push forward competitively. We’re delighted to welcome him to VCARB.”
