Aiva Anagnostiadis has started her rookie season of F1 Academy 2025 with Hitech TGR, supported by Tag Heuer. Anagnostiadis’ résumé includes representing Australia at the 2022 Motorsport Games in France and winning the Australian Ladies Trophy in 2021. By 2024, she had made the switch to car racing, finishing 10th in her debut season in the Indian F4 Championship. This year has been a key period of growth and development, with valuable lessons already under her belt. At the halfway mark of the season, the Australian sits on 5 points, but with plenty still on offer, she has every chance to climb the standings in the rounds ahead.

First points of the season in China

Anagnostiadis’ inexperience showed in Round 1 in China, where she qualified P16 after struggling to piece together a competitive lap. However, she bounced back in Race 1, fighting her way up to P9—just outside the points. A post-race penalty for Haas driver Courtney Crone, who received a 10-second stop-go penalty converted to 30 seconds, promoted Anagnostiadis to P8 and handed her the first point of her season. In Race 2, she crossed the line in P13, with three drivers failing to finish and excluded from the final classification. Anagnostiadis left China with 1 point in the 2025 F1 Academy Drivers’ Standings.

Anagnostiadis struggled again to get a competitive time together in Qualifying, coming across the line in P16. In Race 1, she crossed the line in P14, out of a points paying position. In Race 2, she was in a three way battle with Nicole Havrda and Emma Felbermayr, for P15-P17. Ultimately, she wasn’t able to overtake either driver and finished in P17. Anagnostiadis only had her 1 point from China at the completion of Round 2 in the 2025 F1 Academy season.

Wet weather in Miami

Anagnostiadis continued to gain experience in Miami. In FP1, she was 3.5 seconds off the pace, and in FP2, she had shortened this to 2.7 seconds. When a downpour interrupted qualifying, Anagnostiadis wasn’t keen on pushing to hard in the wet conditions, ultimately Qualifying in P18, 4.5 seconds of Chloe Chambers who crossed the line in P1. In the one and only race in Miami (Race 2 was cancelled due to wet weather), Anagnostiadis kept her car on track, crossing the line in P14. With another weekend out of points paying positions, she concluded Round 3 of the 2025 F1 Academy season with her sole point to her name.

More points in Canada

Anagnostiadis once again took her time to get familiar with the circuit in Montreal. In Qualifying, she crossed the line in P17, three seconds off Chambers in P1. However, in Race 1 (which was the rescheduled event from Miami) Anagnostiadis secured more points by finishing P10. Following post-race disqualifications and penalties, the Australian was promoted to P8, earning 4 points from Race 1.

In Race 2, contact late in the race on Lap 14 between Anagnostiadis and teammate Havrda brought out a safety car. Havrda wasn’t able to complete the race, but Anagnostiadis crossed the line in P14.

Race 3 brought about Anagnostiadis’ first DNF. Wild Card Mathida Paatz lost control of her vehicle after contact and crashed into the path of Anagnostiadis, ruling them both out of the race and bringing out a safety car.

What’s on the cards for the remainder of the 2025 F1 Academy season?

In her first full season behind the wheel of an F4 car, Anagnostiadis has steadily gained valuable experience. Although many circuits are unfamiliar to her, she has shown consistent improvement each weekend, building confidence and steadily shaving time off her laps as the rounds progress. With three rounds still to go, she has a strong opportunity to add to her current 5-point tally and climb higher than her current P14 in the standings.
