Day 2 of the F1 Academy in-season test at Circuito de Navarra ended with Ella Lloyd dominating both sessions. The McLaren-backed driver set the pace with a 1:46.259 in the morning and a 1:46.424 in the afternoon. Her morning time stood as the fastest lap of the entire test. In the first session, the 20-year-old narrowly beat Maya Weug, while in the afternoon she finished two-tenths ahead of Emma Felbermayr.
Morning session
Aurelia Nobels crossed the chequered flag first, posting an early 1:51.138. The Ferrari driver quickly dropped down the order as rivals improved. Lia Block, Nina Gademan, and Maya Weug each took turns at the top during the opening 15 minutes.
Doriane Pin soon emerged as the driver to beat. The Mercedes racer posted a 1:46.977 and then lowered her time to 1:46.415. Ella Lloyd answered soon after. At the end of the first hour, the McLaren driver delivered a 1:46.398, just 0.004s quicker than Weug and 0.017s ahead of Pin.
Weug briefly reclaimed P1 by 0.066s, but Lloyd responded with an even stronger lap. Her final effort of the morning, a 1:46.259, secured the top spot.
Weug finished second, only 0.073s behind, with Pin close in third. Felbermayr took fourth ahead of Chloe Chambers. Chloe Chong, Rafaela Ferreira, Alba Larsen, Tina Hausmann, and Block completed the top ten.
Afternoon session
When the drivers returned after the break, Lloyd immediately set the pace with a 1:47.359. She improved with every run, dipping into the 1:46s within 20 minutes. Larsen trailed by two-tenths, but Lloyd kept pushing. She ultimately set a 1:46.424, the fastest lap of the afternoon and her second session-topping performance of the day.
Felbermayr claimed second, 0.201s adrift. Weug fought her way into the top three, but Pin quickly edged her out by just 0.003s, leaving Weug in fourth. Larsen rounded out the top five, three tenths off the leaders.
Block launched a strong final push, moving into seventh ahead of Chambers. Chong finished ninth, while Hausmann secured tenth.
Even though the F1 Academy in-season testing has come to an end, the action continues this week. On Thursday at 09:00 local time, F1 Academy will hold its first-ever Rookie Test. Eighteen promising drivers will line up, ready to deliver more excitement.
