Tina Hausmann has concluded her 2025 campaign in F1 Academy, taking part with PREMA Racing as a part of the Aston Martin F1 Driver Development Programme. After finishing her first campaign 10th in the Standings with 31 points, she showed improved as she concluded her second season in 8th with 50 points. Her team, PREMA Racing, were also crowned the 2025 F1 Academy Teams’ Champions.
The first half of the season showed the steady improvement and skill of the Swiss driver. Round 1 in Shanghai began with P13 and P15 finishes in Race 1 and 2. While the opening round was unremarkable, Hausmann illustrated maturity by avoiding any major incidents and displaying two clean runs.
Hausmann’s first points haul of 2025
The second round of the 2025 F1 Academy season in Jeddah began on a high for Hausmann. The Aston Martin driver had a strong Qualifying, taking P6 going ahead of Race 1 where she started P3 but dropped to P6. Race 2 was rather similar, starting and ending in P6, making it a consecutive P6 finish. Jeddah marked her first points of the season. The round showed the driver’s growth throughout the weekend. She got her elbows out to defend her position and took home her first top ten finish of 2025.
The following round took place in Miami where Hausmann qualified P9. The chaotic Race 1 saw her finish with a strong P7. During the race, the Swiss driver kept a steady pace and clean execution. While the strong momentum showed potential to have continued, Race 2 was cancelled due to the weather conditions.
Strong momentum continuing into the second half of the season
Round 4 in Montreal proved to be another strong weekend for the Swiss driver. Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve could only be described as positive for Hausmann. During F1 Academy Qualifying session on the Friday, she placed P5. The weekend continued with a similar momentum for her. Hausmann earned an impressive P6 in Race 1, after starting in P9, where she qualified in Miami.
Race 2 wasn’t as fortunate, with Hausmann ending in P7. Her best race of the weekend came in Race 3 where she sat in podium contention for most of the race’s duration. With brilliant overtakes, high pace, and strong defending, the driver showed immense grit. Unfortunately, she narrowly missed out on a podium and ended the race P4.
An uphill battle to end the season
Hausmann consistently found herself around the P7 mark during Qualifying. She lined up second on the grid for Round 5 in Zandvoort as a result of the reverse grid format. Race 1 set her up to chase down a podium finish. However, despite starting P2, she was unable to defend her position from a fast approaching Lia Block. Shortly after, the Swiss driver lost control and found the barriers. Race 1 became a low point for the driver after retiring on the first lap. Race 2 had a brighter ending for the Aston Martin driver as she found herself in the points once again, with a solid performance brought her to a P5 finish.
The penultimate Round in Singapore left the Swiss driver yearning for more. A disappointing Qualifying session left her with only P13. In Race 1 she attempted to climb through the field, ending the race up three positions with a P10. Race 2 did not pan out any better for the driver. She illustrated her grit by trying to fight the back markers at the start, however, with a stall in the pit lane and weaker pace, the racer could not finish higher than P14.
Final round disappointment
The PREMA driver hoped for a last round miracle, though Round 7 of the 2025 F1 Academy seasonin Las Vegas did not offer any comfort for Hausmann. Qualifying once again ended with Hausmann in P6, which set her up for a potential strong weekend. However, with tricky conditions and plenty of Safety Cars, the weekend turned out to be difficult. Hausmann’s race came to an end before it begun in Race 1. With a rolling start set to take place, Maya Weug misjudged the situation at the end of the final formation lap, and collided into the back of the Aston Martin driver. This ultimately ended the race for both drivers. Race 2 proved to be better for the PREMA driver as she grabbed a P8 finish.
Overall, the Aston Martin driver demonstrated her strong talent, defending skills, and brilliant overtaking skills this season. Her second and final F1 Academy campaign in 2025 demonstrated maturity and growth as large parts of the season found her being consistent. It will be a thrill to watch what the racer does further in her career.
