Kush Maini delivered a commanding performance to secure his maiden F2 victory in Saturday’s 2025 Monaco GP Sprint Race on the iconic streets of Monte Carlo. Starting from reverse-grid pole, the DAMS Lucas Oil driver led every lap, expertly controlled the pace, and handled a Safety Car restart with precision to seal an emphatic win.

Right from the start, Maini faced intense pressure from PREMA’s Gabriele Minì, who slotted into second and remained within striking distance for much of the race. However, Minì’s late attempt to drop back and set the fastest lap ultimately failed. Instead, he found himself defending against a surging Arvid Lindblad.

Earlier in the race, Lindblad clashed with Jak Crawford at Turn 5 and received a ten-second time penalty. Although he mounted a spirited recovery and crossed the line in third, the penalty demoted him to eighth. Consequently, Luke Browning inherited the final podium position, gaining valuable points in the tightly contested championship.

Meanwhile, the race saw no shortage of drama. Multiple incidents eliminated Cian Shields, Joshua Dürksen, and John Bennett. Furthermore, a collision between Victor Martins and Oliver Goethe ended with Martins limping to the pits and Goethe receiving a penalty.

Despite the chaos, Maini remained composed and untroubled, taking all ten points available and boosting his championship hopes. With title leader Alex Dunne finishing outside the points, the gap at the top closed significantly. As a result, Browning, Verschoor, and Fornaroli edged closer in the standings.

Heading into Sunday’s Feature Race, the momentum shifts. The title fight tightens, and several drivers now stand poised to challenge for the lead in what promises to be a fiercely competitive season.
