Day 2 of test 1 at 2026 Bahrain F1 testing is in the books, view the full report and results below.

More teams decided to give one driver a full day of running on Thursday. Lando Norris (McLaren), Isack Hadjar (Red Bull), Charles Leclerc (Scuderia Ferrari), Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin), Ollie Bearman (Haas) and Pierre Gasly (Alpine) were the drivers in the cockpit for the AM and PM sessions.

AM session

Red Bull and Mercedes both hit problems. A hydraulic leak on Isack Hadjar’s car saw him complete a single lap. A power unit change for Kimi Antonelli reduced his running to only three tours. It marks very little running for the Italian so far.

Sergio Pérez also caused a very early red flag as his Cadillac stopped on track. In the end, however, he got 42 laps in.

Out front, Charles Leclerc was fastest. The Monegasque did a 1:34.273 for P1. It’s also the quickest time of testing so far. Lando Norris was P2, 0.511s away. The World Champion also led the way regarding laps completed.

PM session

Red flags would appear again. Debris was the reason for the first one.

A second came later as Pierre Gasly stopped before turn 1. The French driver did not return to the circuit because of a transmission problem. He did complete 97 laps before that, though.

In terms of lap times, Ollie Bearman and George Russell were the only two drivers to get within two seconds of the top two. The Brits finished 1.121s and 1.193s off the benchmark set by Leclerc in the AM session.

The top 4 teams from the last couple of years all did some long runs as they used the most representative conditions for the Grand Prix to come later in 2026.
