Day 5 of testing and the final one of the 2026 F1 Barcelona shakedown is in the books, view the full results below.
Alpine, Aston Martin, Audi, Cadillac, Ferrari, Haas, McLaren and Red Bull Racing all participated on the final day of action. Mercedes and Racing Bulls had already run their maximum of three days.
Aston Martin get crucial laps in
In the morning part of the final day, Fernando Alonso logged 49 laps in the AMR26 as the two-time F1 World Champion hit the track for the first time in 2026. He ended up 7th quickest of the drivers who ran at that stage.
A 1:16.653 from Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc was the benchmark in the first half of Friday, a couple of tenths away from George Russell’s best on Day 4.
The World Champion puts himself at the front
In the afternoon, 2025 F1 World Champion Lando Norris established himself at the top of the order. The McLaren driver clocked a 1:16.594, besting Leclerc by 0.059s. It was still over a tenth away from George Russell’s time on Thrusday.
Hamilton fastest in 2026 F1 Testing at Barcelona
Right at the end of the five-day shakedown, Lewis Hamilton logged a 1:16.348. It was P1 on the day and through the whole week. He was a 0.097s quicker than Russell’s benchmark from Thursday.
