Hitech’s Deagen Fairclough continued his strong pre-season form on Wednesday, topping the times again during Day 2 of 2026 GB3 Championship testing at Silverstone. Wintry weather, including rain and snow showers, disrupted the first and third sessions, leaving only the second session to set the benchmark times.
Fairclough edges Rehm in close battle at Silverstone on Day 2 of 2026 GB3 testing
Fairclough clocked a 1m49.749s in session two, just 0.071 seconds ahead of Rodin Motorsport’s Maxim Rehm. Despite the challenging conditions, Fairclough’s lap was only six-tenths of a second slower than his unofficial record-breaking lap from Tuesday. The British driver has now led three of the four pre-season test days he has attended.
Martin Molnar, Rehm’s teammate, was a mere 0.045 seconds behind the top two, with Elite Motorsport’s Flynn Jackes completing the top four, 0.070 seconds off Molnar’s pace.
The lead quintet was split by less than a quarter of a second, illustrating how competitive the field has become this pre-season. Nikita Bedrin for VRD Racing followed in fifth, with Kyuho Lee second in Elite Motorsport’s line-up taking sixth. Lucas Fluxa, who set the pace in session one, was seventh, closely followed by Rodin’s Abbi Pulling. Rodrigo Gonzalez (VRD Racing) and Rowan Campbell-Pilling (Xcel Motorsport) completed the top ten, separated by just 0.730 seconds.
New drivers and ongoing pre-season programme
Among the 24 drivers participating, GB4 title contender Daniel Guinchard made an appearance with Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing. Elite Motorsport also continued their testing programme with Spanish-British driver Edu Robinson.
Official GB3 pre-season testing moves to Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit on Thursday 9 April, where teams will continue to refine setups and strategies ahead of the season opener.
