With the 2025 season coming to an end, IndyCar teams have begun launching their 2026 car liveries. The 2026 IndyCar season will feature 17 rounds on the calendar, amidst a field with several new driver-team combinations.
The season will begin on March 1st, kicking off on the Streets of St. Petersburg, Florida, for the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
Chip Ganassi Racing — No. 8 (Kyffin Simpson)

On December 12th, 2025, Chip Ganassi Racing revealed the No. 8 car’s livery for the 2026 IndyCar season. Fuel distributor Sunoco returns to IndyCar as a full-time primary partner for the first time since 1973. Sunoco previously served as IndyCar’s primary fuel supplier from 2010-2018, as well as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s supplier from 2015-2018.
Kyffin Simpson remains as driver of the No. 8 Chip Ganassi Racing car. The Caymanian driver scored his maiden podium on the Streets of Toronto during the 2025 IndyCar season. In 2026, Simpson will enter his third year in the sport, continuing to race alongside reigning champion Alex Palou and IndyCar veteran Scott Dixon.
Simpson expressed confidence in his performance for the 2026 IndyCar season while speaking on the No. 8 car’s new livery.
“Starting my third year in IndyCar with Sunoco joining the No. 8 Honda is an incredible boost. We’ve made big strides on the track, and this partnership will only help us get better, I’m confident we can take another step forward and have even more success in 2026 and beyond.”
Chip Ganassi, the team’s owner, spoke about the historic partnership, emphasising Sunoco’s legacy in IndyCar.
