As reported by Sportscar365, Absolute Racing has confirmed it will field a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 in the 2026 GT World Challenge (GTWC) Asia powered by AWS season. The No. 29 car, entered under the Absolute Corse banner, will be driven by Malaysian racer Akash Nandy for a second consecutive season. Last year, Nandy partnered with Huang Ruohan in the Silver-Am class, finishing fourth in the standings and securing a victory in the season finale on the streets of Beijing.

Ahead of the season opener at Sepang next weekend, Absolute has yet to announce which class the Lamborghini will contest or Nandy’s co-driver for 2026.

Absolute Racing team optimistic for improved 2026 GTWC Asia campaign

Team principal Ingo Matter expressed confidence in the team’s prospects: “We are delighted to return to GT World Challenge Asia with Lamborghini and Akash. We learned a great deal last season and are better prepared than we were twelve months ago. The entire team is highly motivated, and having Akash with us is a real asset as he brings stability, pace, and further potential for improvement.”

Nandy echoed Matter’s optimism, highlighting both personal and team growth: “I’m incredibly grateful to [sponsor] Provident for their support in making this opportunity possible, and to Absolute Racing for their continued backing.

“It’s great to be back in the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 for another season. Last year was a valuable learning experience, and with the knowledge we’ve gained, I believe we’re in a strong position heading into this championship. There’s a great energy within the team, and we’re ready to give it everything we have.”

Previous campaign and expanded lineup

Absolute Racing fielded two Lamborghini entries last year, including the No. 19 Pro-Am car driven by a rotating lineup of drivers, including factory racer Edoardo Mortara. The team also ran a Ferrari 296 GT3 in selected rounds under the Absolute Corse banner.

Earlier this week, Absolute Racing announced plans to field two Porsche 911 GT3 R Evos in the Pro-Am class, with Alessandro Ghiretti and Bastian Buus among its confirmed drivers. The combination of Lamborghini and Porsche entries reflects the team’s continued commitment to GT racing in Asia.
