Nobels’ rapid development through single-seater racing and multiple championship entries has earned her a reputation as one of the most promising young drivers in the racing world.
A cross-continental motorsport journey leads Nobels to GB3 with Hillspeed for 2026
Aurelia Nobels’ motorsport journey started in Brazil, where she honed her skills in karting from a young age. In 2022, she transitioned to single-seater racing in the F4 Brazilian Championship, finishing a best race of eighth. She also had one-off appearances in the F4 Spanish Championship and the F4 Danish Championship, gaining valuable international experience.
Nobels’ talent didn’t go unnoticed. In late 2022, she triumphed in the senior category of the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission’s ‘Girls On Track – Rising Stars’ programme. The victory earned her a coveted spot in the prestigious Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy. With Ferrari’s backing, Nobels competed in several F4 championships, including Italian F4, Euro 4, F4 UAE, and British F4 during 2023, further solidifying her credentials.
The year 2024 saw Nobels step into the F1 Academy, a high-profile series aimed at developing young female drivers. In her debut season, she finished 12th in the driver standings, with her best race result being a fifth-place finish. However, it was in her sophomore year that Nobels truly began to shine. At the final round in Las Vegas, she claimed her first-ever podium in the series with a strong third-place finish.
Reflecting on her time in F1 Academy, Nobels said, “I’m really happy to be joining Hillspeed for my first season in GB3 and I’m grateful to the team for the trust they’ve placed in me. It’s a big step forward in my career and I’m excited to be moving up to one of the most competitive categories to transition to F3 and work with such an experienced and successful team. It’s going to be a big challenge to learn a lot of new tracks but I’m really motivated for the season ahead and looking forward to working closely with the team to push for strong results.”
Nobels to undertake a new challenge with Hillspeed in GB3 in 2026
For the 2026 season, Nobels will join Hillspeed, a team with a strong track record of nurturing emerging talent. Hillspeed has a history of working with promising female drivers and has now entrusted Nobels with a full-time seat in the GB3 Championship. The move represents a significant challenge for Nobels, as the GB3 car offers much more power and aero compared to what she has driven before. However, the team’s experience and her racing pedigree have given them confidence in her ability to adapt quickly.
Richard Ollerenshaw, Team Principal of Hillspeed, commented on the signing: “Having the opportunity to bring Aurelia into our GB3 team for 2026 is a very exciting development for Hillspeed. We’ve worked with a number of talented female drivers over the years, and so we’re delighted to have signed Aurelia for her step-up into GB3. It will be a major learning curve, with a significant increase in power and aero from what she has been used to, but we’re sure she’ll adapt well.”
He added, “After two years racing in the F1 Academy, and the experience she has gained within the Ferrari Driver Academy itself, we have high hopes for Aurelia’s maiden season racing full-time in GB3 and we can’t wait to get underway with official pre-season testing this week.”
A strong future ahead
Aurelia Nobels’ rise through the ranks of motorsport has been nothing short of impressive, and her move to GB3 marks another significant milestone in her career. Her wealth of experience, including time in high-pressure F1 Academy series, equips her well to take on the new challenges that await in GB3
As the 2026 season approaches, all eyes will be on Nobels as she looks to continue her upward trajectory in motorsport. With a strong team behind her and a fierce determination to succeed, there is little doubt that Nobels will be one to watch in the coming years.
