Dino Beganovic will race for DAMS Lucas Oil in the 2026 F2 Championship, as the Ferrari Driver Academy talent aims to turn his strong rookie campaign into a full-blown title challenge. The Swedish racer confirmed the news, saying he feels a deep connection with the French outfit.

Building on an impressive debut season

Beganovic has continued to impress throughout his first full F2 campaign, consistently fighting inside the top ten of the standings. So far this season, the Swedish racer has shown both pace and composure, securing one victory, a pole position, and four podium finishes.

As a result, he currently sits eighth overall in the championship and remains firmly in contention for more strong results. Through steady progress and sharp racecraft, Beganovic has proven himself as one of the most promising young drivers on the grid

The 21-year-old has already tasted success with DAMS Lucas Oil, after stepping in for the team at the final two rounds of the 2024 season. That short stint included a podium in the Yas Marina Sprint Race, convincing both sides to reunite for a full campaign.

“I’m extremely happy to return to DAMS Lucas Oil for another season in Formula 2,” Beganovic said. “I felt an instant connection with the team last year, both on a professional and human level, and we showed great potential together, including a podium in Abu Dhabi.”

The Swede credited the Ferrari Driver Academy for guiding his career and giving him the platform to progress. “I’m grateful for the trust they’ve placed in me, and for the continued support from the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy,” he added. “The goal now is to build on the progress we’ve made and fight consistently at the front.”

DAMS Lucas Oil backs Beganovic’s rise

Team owner Charles Pic said the decision to bring Beganovic back was easy after witnessing his focus and growth.

“We were impressed by Dino’s maturity and professionalism during his first outings with us,” Pic said. “His work ethic, technical understanding and consistency perfectly match the values of our team. We’re thrilled to welcome him back for this next step in his career, and we’re confident we can achieve great things together.”

DAMS Lucas Oil enters 2026 with strong momentum after a season filled with consistent points and podiums. The team believes Beganovic can lead them back to the top of the standings.

From Ferrari junior to Formula 2 frontrunner

Beganovic has climbed the junior ladder with precision. He captured the 2022 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine title, collecting four wins and nine podiums that year.

Before that, he finished third in the 2020 Italian F4 Championship and developed under the direct support of Ferrari’s junior programme. After progressing through the ranks, Beganovic continued to deliver strong performances in Formula 3, taking nine podiums, including two wins, across two seasons. Throughout this period, his methodical approach and consistent qualifying form helped him become one of the most respected drivers in the paddock before stepping into Formula 2.

Now, as Beganovic and DAMS Lucas Oil prepare for the 2026 campaign, both team and driver share one clear goal: to challenge for the title. With his experience growing each season and his confidence at an all-time high, Beganovic enters his second year in F2 ready to fight at the front.
