Eager to begin this new chapter, he looked forward to getting back on track with the Italian squad and fighting for standout results together next year.

Ricci hails Bennett’s growth as TRIDENT target competitive 2026 F2 campaign

TRIDENT Team Manager Giacomo Ricci welcomed the signing and said the team felt very pleased to add Bennett for the 2026 Formula 2 season. He explained that TRIDENT observed the Briton closely during the recent campaign, watching him make solid progress at each round. The team analysed his performances in different conditions and saw steady growth in pace and race craft.

Ricci underlined that Bennett’s profile matched the team’s approach, both in terms of work ethic and attitude in the garage. He expressed confidence that the newcomer already built a strong relationship with the engineers and adapted well to their methods. The Italian squad believed this understanding laid a solid foundation for their work together. With that base in place, Ricci felt sure that team and driver will enter 2026 with the tools to deliver a competitive and consistent season.

“We are very pleased to announce that John Bennett will race for Trident Motorsport in the 2026 FIA Formula 2 Championship. He is a driver we had the chance to observe during the recently concluded season, where he showed solid development. I am confident that the British driver has all the qualities needed to work well with our technical staff and deliver a competitive campaign.”
