Callum Voisin got his first chance behind the wheel of a Formula E car during the Berlin Rookie Test. The 2023 GB3 champion drove alongside Bianca Bustamante in one of the CUPRA KIRO’s. With almost 100 laps driven, Voisin helped the team, collecting data ahead of the season finale in London.
Voisin is ready for the future after Berlin Rookie Test
After completing the Berlin Rookie Test, Voisin reflected on a productive and educational day behind the wheel of a Formula E car for the first time. “We’ve just finished up the test, and it was a positive day of learning,” he said. Voisin noted the initial challenge of adapting to the unique systems of the GEN3 Evo. Particularly coming from a Formula 3 background.
Voisin explained: “It took a bit of time getting used to the systems, but the day went smoothly, we didn’t run into issues, and we completed our run plan.“ While acknowledging the different driving style required for the GEN3 Evo, Voisin expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity. Adding: “I’m looking forward to building on this experience for the future.”

Hui and CUPRA KIRO happy about the Rookie Test outcome
CUPRA KIRO Team Principal Alex Hui praised Voisin and the team after a strong showing at the Berlin Rookie Test. “Today was a very productive day for the team,” he said. Hui highlighted how quickly Voisin adapted to the GEN3 Evo and noted his professional approach throughout the session.
“Bianca and Callum both impressed us with how they quickly they adapted to the car and the professionalism they brought,” Hui added. Voisin completed his run plan without issue, helping the team gather valuable data. “Any opportunity to test is always valuable, and both drivers executed our run plan perfectly,” Hui added. With 192 laps completed, CUPRA KIRO left Berlin with a wealth of data and clear progress made toward their development goals.
