Campos Racing secured one of their strongest performances of the 2025 F3 season on the streets of Monte Carlo, with Nikola Tsolov clinching victory in the Feature Race. Starting from pole position after a remarkable Qualifying session on Friday, Tsolov became the first F3 driver to achieve five race wins in a single season.
Mari Boya’s third-place finish, his best result of the 2025 campaign, further elevated the team’s success. The combined efforts of Tsolov and Boya delivered an impressive 43-point haul, narrowing Campos Racing’s gap to Teams’ Championship leaders TRIDENT to just 38 points.
Campos Jr. praises team excellence in 2025 Monte Carlo F3 round
Team Principal Adrián Campos Jr. expressed his delight with the team’s performance throughout the Monaco weekend. Speaking after the race, Campos Jr. praised both drivers for their outstanding achievements.
“We are extremely happy. In terms of F3, I could not be happier. Mari was able to go a bit quicker like Nikola and we saw that at the end of the race, but I think Nikola managed the race perfectly.
“He was just driving and saving tyres in the beginning, and then at the end, he decided to see what his pace really was, and ended up doing the fastest lap which I think was a second quicker than the next best.”
“So we are very happy with the performance and we are looking forward to keeping the momentum up for our home race in Barcelona.”
Looking ahead to Barcelona after Monte Carlo success
Although Monaco is steeped in motorsport tradition and features a unique weekend format, Campos Jr. emphasised that in terms of points and expected performance, it remains equivalent to any other round. Therefore, he is eager to see the team maintain its form heading into the Barcelona round, which serves as the home event for both Campos Racing and F3 driver Mari Boya, as well as F2 compatriot Pepe Martí.
“Monaco is always special, but in the end, we want to be quick wherever we go. Monaco is a unique race, but it gives you the same number of points as any other race.”
“So we have to keep working and keep this momentum up for the rest of the season.”
“A strong result in Barcelona is what we want to do now. We have home drivers in both F2 and F3, in Pepe and Mari, so we are looking forward to getting some good points and fight for the podium, if not the win.”
Hoping for a change in fortunes for Boya after unlucky start
Campos Jr. also expressed hope that Boya would be spared the misfortune that has often hindered his performances this season. He described the Spanish driver as “one of the unluckiest guys in F3,” citing numerous occasions where Boya’s weekends were compromised by circumstances beyond his control. However, as demonstrated in Monte Carlo, when conditions allow, Boya consistently proves to be a formidable competitor.
“I think Mari is one of the unluckiest guys in F3. It is always something out of his control, so when everything goes well and nothing goes wrong, normally he is very quick and he is up there.:
“He fights for race wins and fights for pole. He deserves a bit more of this for the rest of the season because he is very quick and he is working very hard.”
Determined to achieve victory in Barcelona
Looking ahead to the home race in Barcelona, Campos Jr. reaffirmed his confidence in the team’s current form. Nevertheless, he warned against complacency, acknowledging the fiercely competitive nature of the championship. While optimistic, he remains aware that success requires continued effort and precision.
“There is no reason why we cannot continue. Anything can happen, and we know this Championship is very difficult and it is very tough. The level is extremely high, and we need to keep working as well as we are now to stay up there, and we will keep doing so.”
“But you never know. Maybe we arrive in Barcelona and one team is quicker than us. We want to avoid that scenario happening, and we will be doing our best to repeat Monaco’s results in Barcelona.”
