Although Campos Racing enter the 2025 F2 season finale as mathematical outsiders in the Teams’ Championship, the Spanish outfit continue to treat the last round as a chance to reinforce the progress they have made across the year. Team Principal Adrián Campos Jr. reflected on the team’s approach, their priorities and the perspective gained from a campaign marked by both improvement and adversity.
Speaking ahead of the final weekend, Campos Jr. outlined how the team view their position in a fiercely competitive field and how their goals evolved as results and circumstances shifted throughout the year.
Realistic expectations in a high-pressure environment
Campos Jr. makes it clear from the outset that the title fight itself is not the primary focus. The team instead is concentrating on achievable targets that reflect their season-long development.
“For us, it’s not on our mind to fight for the title this weekend. It’s something that we know is extremely difficult and we saw how Invicta and Leo [Fornaroli] have performed in the last few races. For us it would be great to try to achieve again the second position in the championship.”
Consequently, Campos Racing view the weekend as a chance to consolidate their progress rather than to chase unlikely scenarios. Their consistent presence in the top three offers a foundation they intend to protect.
Building stability across a challenging season
Furthermore, Campos Jr. highlighted the significance of remaining inside the top group of teams for consecutive seasons. Despite setbacks and misfortune, the team retain pride in their resilience.
“But also staying in the top three two years in a row, I’d be happy. Overall, with how the season has gone and all the bad luck we have had at some point, still being in the top three in the Teams’ Standings, it’s quite good. This year that we are doing has been getting better and better, so let’s see where we finish.”
This perspective reinforces the value Campos Racing place on progression. Even when luck swung against them, the team continued refining execution and performance, allowing them to remain competitive throughout the campaign.
The dream scenario: A double triumph across categories
Although Campos Jr. maintains a grounded outlook on the weekend, he did not hide how meaningful a perfect outcome would be for the organisation. Winning both major junior categories in the same year would mark a defining moment in the team’s history.
“I haven’t thought about it, as I said, it is extremely difficult, but it would be amazing to win both F3 and F2 in the same year. It’s something we could not imagine at the beginning of the year, not even five years ago. It would be extremely good, but it would be difficult.”
Therefore, while Campos Racing acknowledge the challenge ahead, they also recognise the symbolic weight such an achievement would carry. It would validate long-term development and reaffirm their competitive ambition in both championships.
Aiming high while remaining grounded
Campos Racing arrive in Abu Dhabi with a pragmatic but ambitious mindset. They understand the difficulty of overturning the title fight yet remain determined to secure the best possible outcome. Their journey through the season — balancing progress, setbacks and steady improvement — positions them as a team still on the rise.
Whether they finish second, third or even achieve the improbable, Campos Racing approach the finale with clarity: finish strong, seize any opportunity and continue proving their growing strength within the F2 field.
