Two of the AM class’s most accomplished driver pairings will return to GT World Challenge (GTWC) Asia powered by AWS this year with unchanged line-ups, reaffirming a rivalry that has defined the category’s modern era.
Reigning champions David Tjiptobiantoro and Christian Colombo will once again share Garage 75’s upgraded Ferrari 296 GT3, now running in Evo specification. Meanwhile, Andrew Macpherson and Ben Porter continue together at AMAC Motorsport, where they will campaign an all-new Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo.
Collectively, the two crews stand as the most successful AM entries in GT World Challenge Asia history.
Garage 75 targets back-to-back success in 2026 GTWC Asia AM Class
Tjiptobiantoro and Colombo enter the new season as defending champions after sealing last year’s AM crown. Notably, Tjiptobiantoro also claimed the title in 2024, underlining his status as one of the category’s benchmark competitors.
On that occasion, Colombo finished second overall despite missing a round, which further highlighted the pair’s underlying pace and resilience. Now, with their Ferrari upgraded to Evo specification, they aim to maintain their competitive edge against an increasingly strong field.
Continuity remains their greatest strength. Having built a proven partnership within Garage 75, they combine experience, speed and strategic awareness — qualities that proved decisive during last season’s campaign.
AMAC’s legacy of consistency continues in 2026 GTWC Asia AM class
However, when it comes to sustained success and longevity, few can match their Australian rivals. Macpherson and Porter have finished either runners-up or third in every season since securing their second Am title in 2022.
Before that, they claimed the championship in 2019 after finishing second in their debut campaign the year prior. This remarkable consistency has cemented their reputation as one of the championship’s defining pairings.
For 2026, AMAC embarks on a new technical chapter. The switch from the previous 991.2-generation Porsche to the latest 992 Evo model represents a significant development step. At the same time, the team has chosen to retire its distinctive black, white and fluorescent orange livery, signalling a fresh visual identity to match its new machinery.
Season begins at Sepang
The six-round, 12-race campaign begins at Sepang International Circuit on 4–5 April. From there, the battle between these two proven Am powerhouses promises to shape the title fight once again.
With championship pedigree on both sides and Evo-spec performance now in play, stability at the top could yet produce the fiercest contest in recent memory.
