Édouard Borgna will continue his single-seater career in 2026 after securing a seat with Drivex for the upcoming Eurocup-3 season. The 21-year-old French driver makes the move following a challenging but formative campaign in the FIA Formula Regional European Championship.
Borgna competed in FRECA in 2025, where he finished 30th overall against a highly competitive field. Despite the results, the season provided valuable experience at one of the toughest levels of junior single-seater racing. Notably, he achieved a best overall finish of 17th, demonstrating steady progress throughout the year.
An atypical pathway into motorsport with experience built in Formula Regional
Unlike many of his contemporaries, Borgna followed an unconventional route into racing. He began his motorsport journey at the age of 18, significantly later than most drivers on the junior ladder. Without a background in karting, he faced a steep learning curve from the outset.
Nevertheless, he quickly adapted to single-seater machinery, making his debut in French Formula 4 in 2023. Over two seasons, he steadily improved his performances, finishing 26th in his rookie year before climbing to 19th in 2024. His development continued despite limited experience compared to rivals who had spent years honing their craft.
Borgna stepped up to Formula Regional competition with G4 Racing, where he undertook a demanding rookie campaign. While he did not score overall championship points, he showed flashes of potential.
Importantly, he secured a rookie category victory during the opening round at Misano, marking a significant milestone in his development. That result highlighted his ability to compete within his peer group, even while adapting to the higher level of competition in Formula Regional.
Throughout the season, Borgna focused on gaining experience, improving consistency and understanding the technical demands of the car. These elements proved crucial in preparing him for the next phase of his career.
Borgna embarks on new chapter with Drivex in 2026 Eurocup-3 championship
Now, Borgna embarks on a new challenge in Eurocup-3 with Drivex. The move offers him an opportunity to apply the lessons learned in FRECA while competing in a different but still highly competitive environment.
Eurocup-3 has established itself as a key step in the junior single-seater ladder, attracting a diverse and talented grid. By joining an experienced outfit like Drivex, Borgna places himself in a strong position to continue his development.
As he prepares for the 2026 season, Borgna’s focus remains on building consistency and delivering stronger results. His rapid rise from a late start in motorsport to competing in European single-seaters underlines his determination and commitment.
With another year of experience behind him and a fresh opportunity ahead, Borgna will aim to translate his potential into tangible success in Eurocup-3.
