Following a rather strong beginning of the Formula E Season 2025/2026 for Envision , Joel Eriksson and Sebastien Buemi are ready to take on a new challenge at the new Madrid track layout. It has been a positive season thus far for the Silverstone-based racing team.
Buemi is looking for another laurel
The Swiss veteran had a rather successful latest outing in Jeddah, during which he had secured his first podium of the year. While speed has been a constant throughout the entire Season 12, Buemi hadn’t always managed to convert his pace into positive results.
In fact, the Red Bull affiliated driver had been on pole in Mexico, however he had suffered from a mistake right at the beginning of the race, consequently ending his day out of the top 10.
Regardless of the fact that in Jarame the layout for the upcoming Madrid E-Prix has changed compared to the previous one experienced during Formula E testing last year, the Envision man has high hopes for the new racing weekend.
“After the podium in Jeddah, I’m feeling confident and excited to get back to it and hopefully build on our early momentum. We showed in Jeddah that when it all comes together, we can deliver a great result, and we’ve been working hard to prepare for this race. A new circuit is always exciting, and although we did the test in Madrid in Season 11 it’s going to be a learning experience for all of us for the first race here.”
A slight advantage for the Envision Formula E rookie in Madrid
Eriksson, currently undertaking his first ever full time electric championship, is excited to experience his first ever weekend featuring the newer Pit Boost format. Twice in the points, and with a very impressive P4 finish to his name scored in Miami, the Swede is hyped about the new chance to showcase his talent.
“I’m looking forward to getting back out on track with the team. Although the results in Jeddah were not what we hoped for on my side, there was a lot to learn from it, with it being my first ever Pit Boost weekend and first double-header of the season.”
Not only he is confident in his abilities, he knows he can rely on his Jaguar-powered contender and its strong performances too, considering the brilliant drives Buemi is putting in as well.
“The podium for Seb shows that we have the car, and we’ve all been working hard as a team to arrive in Madrid in the best possible shape.”
