After displaying strong form in practice, Lucas Fluxa of Hillspeed translated potential into triumph in Race 3 of the 205 GB3 Round at Donington Park. Reflecting on his maiden GB3 victory, the 16-year-old Spaniard revealed how focus and composure guided his lights-to-flag performance.
“Obviously, we showed good pace in the practices, but we couldn’t really show it in qualifying,” he explained when asked about his performance. “And yeah, obviously, across the races, we managed to make up some places and really good moves. And we knew we had the pace coming into this one, so it was just getting my head down, getting a good start, be first by T1, and then just try and manage it from there and just focus on going forward.”
From the opening lap, Fluxa demonstrated a calm yet determined approach. His ability to manage pressure after two safety car restarts showcased a maturity beyond his years. By keeping his concentration high, he ensured that his first pole position converted into a breakthrough win. Moreover, the result affirmed Hillspeed’s decision to bring him into their ranks for the closing stages of the 2025 season.
Building momentum with Hillspeed
Having joined the multiple race-winning team for the final two rounds, Fluxa has quickly settled into his new environment. His synergy with Hillspeed became apparent through both performance and attitude.
The young driver’s appreciation for the collective effort was evident, as when asked about podium potential in the season finale at Monza, he added, “Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’m really happy with the team, so I think together we can get some more in Monza.”
With three more races to go, Fluxa’s attention now turns to the season finale at Monza. The high-speed Italian circuit offers a fresh opportunity to build on his Donington momentum. Clearly, his ambition remains undimmed. While his debut win has already marked him as one of GB3’s most promising newcomers, Fluxa’s hunger for improvement ensures that his story is far from complete. Hillspeed’s latest star looks set to keep pushing forward, one race at a time.
