Elite Motorsport has confirmed that Flynn Jackes will return for a second consecutive campaign with the team in the 2026 GB3 Championship, signalling a clear commitment to long-term development. After a learning-focused debut season, Jackes now aims to convert experience into tangible results.

Last year, Jackes finished 20th overall in his first full GB3 season. Nevertheless, he demonstrated steady improvement throughout the campaign. Notably, he secured eight top-15 finishes and achieved an impressive season-best fourth place at the Hungaroring in July. These performances provided a strong platform for further growth.

Jackes brings a diverse racing background to Elite Motorsport for 2026 GB3 campaign

Before stepping into single-seaters, Jackes built a successful karting career across Asia, Europe and Australia. He secured back-to-back Asian Mini-ROK titles in 2012 and 2013. Later, after relocating to Australia in 2015, he competed in KZ2 machinery in both the Australian and Queensland Karting Championships. This varied experience has contributed to his adaptability and racecraft.

Jackes first sampled GB3 machinery at Donington Park in 2021. However, his return to the championship in 2024 proved challenging, as a road traffic accident curtailed his season. Despite this setback, he regrouped and completed his first full campaign last year.

Jackes determined to improve in 2026 GB3 campaign with Elite Motorsport

In recent weeks, Jackes has carried that momentum into pre-season testing. He has shown encouraging pace at Snetterton, Donington Park and Silverstone. At Donington, he consistently ran inside the top five, while at Silverstone he recorded the fourth fastest time on the second day. Consequently, these results suggest that both driver and team have made meaningful progress ahead of the new season.

Looking ahead, Jackes has set clear targets for 2026. He said: “My aim is to build off the baseline set last year with the new GB3 car and improve my results overall. I hope to achieve my first win, gain consistency and improve my race craft. I’m looking forward to the coming season with the hope of moving up the grid.

“The new GB3 car was quite a change compared to the old one but as last season went on, we found a ‘window’ the car liked and it was quite pleasant to drive. 2025 was a good learning season as a driver to improve but I didn’t get the results I desired.

“Last season featured ups and downs. I lost quite a lot of the season being unable to stay active and train. I was recovering from breaking my leg in October ’24 for the majority of the season. Nonetheless I still found pace as my wound healed and subsequently was training harder as the season progressed.

“Elite Motorsport and I have a good foundation and I believe in myself and also the team to bring good results in this season.”

Team support for Jackes ahead of second season in GB3

Meanwhile, Elite Motorsport Team Owner Eddie Ives has expressed strong confidence in Jackes’ potential. He said: “We’re pleased to continue with Flynn for a second season in the GB3 Championship.

“Last year gave him a solid foundation in what is a very competitive series and he showed encouraging pace, particularly as the season progressed. “It wasn’t an easy year for him with the challenges he faced but his determination and commitment stood out.

“With that experience behind him and a full season ahead, we’re confident he can take a step forward and continue to build towards stronger, more consistent results in 2026.”

Ultimately, Jackes enters the 2026 season with both experience and renewed confidence. With a full campaign ahead and a stable partnership with Elite Motorsport, he now has a genuine opportunity to climb the grid. If his testing form translates into race performances, he could emerge as one of the championship’s most improved drivers.
