The second half of the 2025 GB3 Championship season begins at Silverstone this weekend, with an expanded 24-car grid set to compete on the British Grand Prix circuit. In particular, the entry list grows because Chris Dittmann Racing and Hillspeed both return with two-car line-ups, while at the same time VRD Racing expands to a full three-car roster. As a result, the weekend promises one of the most competitive rounds yet.
Ninovic leads the standings
Australians continue to dominate the campaign, with four of the top five places in the standings held by drivers from Down Under. Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Ninovic heads into the weekend with a 34-point advantage after securing his third win of the season at the Hungaroring. Consequently, he has created the largest championship lead seen so far in 2025.
The main challengers
Behind him, Xcel Motorsport’s Patrick Heuzenroeder remains second thanks to his Zandvoort victory earlier in the year, whereas Ninovic’s teammate Gianmarco Pradel has risen to third after scoring his maiden GB3 win at the Hungaroring. Meanwhile, Hitech TGR’s Deagen Fairclough shares the same points tally as Pradel, although he is still chasing his first victory. In addition, JHR’s Noah Lisle completes the top five and will also be eager to break his own winless run.
Further down the order, Elite Motorsport’s Will Macintyre – a Silverstone race winner back in April – leads his team’s charge in sixth, just ahead of Hitech’s Keanu Al Azhari, who has built momentum with three podiums and a maiden pole since June. Argenti with Prema’s Reza Seewooruthun also arrives in strong form after claiming a breakthrough victory in Hungary with one of the largest winning margins in GB3 history.
Rising stars and consistent performers
Beyond the title fight, VRD Racing’s Hugo Schwarze continues to impress. After all, he won at Zandvoort and has claimed podiums at each of the last three rounds. At the same time, his teammate Enzo Tarnvanichkul makes his second start of the season in Red Bull colours, building on a promising debut here in April. Moreover, VRD’s line-up is completed by 16-year-old Mexican Patricio Gonzalez, who already boasts two years of American single-seater experience. Interestingly, his older brother Rodrigo Gonzalez also debuts at Silverstone, joining Chris Dittmann Racing alongside 16-year-old Australian Nicolas Stati, a proven front-runner in Formula Regional Americas and F4 USA.
Elsewhere on the grid, Argenti’s Lucas Fluxa and JHR’s Kai Daryanani look to build on previous podium form, while at the same time, Rodin’s Abbi Pulling returns to the track where she delivered her strongest GB3 weekend to date, qualifying in the top four and scoring two top-six finishes.
Strong midfield and new faces
Meanwhile, Mercedes junior Yuanpu Cui switches to Hillspeed for this round, whereas Xcel’s Jack Sherwood and Elite Motorsport duo Flynn Jackes and Bianca Bustamante aim to convert their Hungarian progress into further top-ten results.
In addition to these names, the entry list also features several new arrivals. Argenti with Prema introduces August Raber, while Xcel Motorsport welcomes Sri Lankan racer Yevan David for his series debut. Finally, Hillspeed strengthens its campaign with the return of Michael Shin, while JHR adds Indian driver Divy Nandan to complete a three-car roster.
All eyes on Silverstone
With a strengthened entry list and championship battles intensifying, the Silverstone weekend promises to deliver one of the most competitive rounds yet. As always, the action will be streamed live, with qualifying and three races deciding who takes control in the title fight’s crucial second phase.
