GB3 race winner Gianmarco Pradel has joined MP Motorsport for a full season in the rapidly growing Eurocup-3 series. The 19-year-old Australian will play a central role in MP’s multi-car programme as the Dutch team prepares to defend both titles it secured in 2025.

Pradel becomes the first driver announced by MP Motorsport for the upcoming campaign, underlining the team’s intent to remain the benchmark in the championship. His arrival signals a clear step forward in his progression towards the higher levels of the single-seater ladder.

Strong GB3 form fuels move to Eurocup-3 for Prade

Pradel earned his Eurocup-3 opportunity after an impressive GB3 season. He claimed two race victories, nine podium finishes and two fastest laps, which placed him fourth in the final standings of a highly competitive field. He remained in championship contention until the final round, highlighting his consistency and racecraft across the year.

That form made him an obvious target for MP Motorsport, which aims to repeat its title-winning success. The team enters the season as the reigning force in Eurocup-3 after securing both the drivers’ and teams’ championships in 2025. Furthermore, MP Motorsport team has established itself as a proven pathway towards FIA Formula 3, with Eurocup-3 increasingly recognised as a key development category.

Speaking on the decision to bring Pradel on, Team Principal Sander Dorsan said: “We are delighted that Gianmarco will be part of our Eurocup-3 line-up this year. The series has been good to us in the past few years and we fully intend to remain on top in the season that lies ahead of us. Gianmarco’s presence will be pivotal in reaching that goal. He’s been truly excellent in GB3 last year, impressing us with his pace and racecraft. He will be one of our best hopes for continued Eurocup-3 glory.”

Experience across continents

Pradel began his career in Australian karting, where he consistently finished inside the top ten of the Australian Karting Championship. He later moved to Europe and built experience in Formula 4 and the Formula Winter Series, finishing runner-up in the latter in 2023.

He also competed in Italian Formula 4 and Euro 4, where he claimed his maiden Formula 4 victory at Monza in 2024. That steady progression continued with his successful GB3 campaign, setting the stage for his Eurocup-3 debut.

Pradel expressed his excitement about joining what he described as “arguably the best team in Eurocup-3”. He stressed the importance of strong winter preparation and the Winter Series before launching a “full-on attack” from the opening rounds, with podiums as the immediate target.

“It’s amazing to be joining arguably the best team in Eurocup-3”, said Pradel. “The series is increasingly delivering talent at the doorstep of FIA Formula 3, especially when they have raced with MP Motorsport, so I’m really looking forward to be part of the team and their continued success. Priority is now for the team to prepare during the remaining winter period and Winter Series and then go into the race season, where it will be ‘full-on attack’ in the first rounds of the championship, challenging for podiums right from the start. I can’t wait to get going!”

With MP Motorsport’s backing and a proven record behind him, Pradel now targets a strong impact at the next level of his career.
