Grupo Prom Racing Team has officially confirmed its return to the International GT Open for the 2026 season. The Mexican squad will embark on its second consecutive campaign, signalling continuity and growing ambition within the competitive GT racing landscape.
Furthermore, the team introduces a fresh visual identity, with its Mercedes-AMG GT3 set to run in the colours of MANNOL, a global lubricant manufacturer expanding its footprint in motorsport.
Grupo Prom Racing fields strong line-up for 2026 International GT Open
At the heart of the programme, Alfredo Hernández returns as the team’s primary driver in the Am class, once again piloting the #77 entry. Notably, Hernández impressed during the previous campaign, finishing fourth in the standings and securing two podium finishes.
Originally a successful jockey before transitioning to motorsport, Hernández continues to demonstrate steady progression and adaptability. As a result, Grupo Prom Racing maintains confidence in his ability to deliver strong performances throughout the season.
While Hernández will compete solo in the standard sprint races, the team has confirmed that Stéphane Tribaudini will join him for the endurance rounds at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and Autodromo Nazionale Monza.
This combination offers a balance of consistency and experience, particularly in longer-format races where teamwork and strategy play a decisive role. Consequently, the pairing could prove crucial in maximising results during key championship moments.
MANNOL expands motorsport presence
Equally significant is the involvement of MANNOL, which strengthens its presence in GT racing through this partnership. The brand sees the International GT Open as a valuable platform for both competition and commercial exposure across Europe.
Konstantin Gaab, Managing Director of MANNOL / SCT Germany, commented:
“The International GT Open offers a very attractive overall package: professional competition, attractive tracks and exciting sprint and endurance formats. At the same time, the series is an ideal opportunity for us to put our brand in the spotlight in key European markets and support our local sales partners. Together with the Grupo Prom Racing team, we want to use this stage to gain valuable experience under racing conditions.”
Building momentum for 2026
Looking ahead, Grupo Prom Racing enters the new season with a clear objective: build on the solid foundations established during its debut campaign. With a consistent driver line-up, a competitive Mercedes-AMG GT3 package, and increased backing from MANNOL, the team appears well-positioned to challenge for stronger results.
In conclusion, the 2026 International GT Open season represents another important step in Grupo Prom Racing’s development, as it continues to establish itself within the highly competitive world of GT endurance racing.
