Lewis Hamilton was rather dejected after qualifying out of the top 10 for the second race in a row at the F1 Hungarian GP. The Ferrari driver was massively distraught especially while comparing with his teammate’s performance, good enough for P1.
Not his day again
The British driver was rather downbeat after a Q2 exit following a double Q1 elimination at the Spa round, as he on commented his lap.
”Just not so good.”
Asked whether he was able to pinpoint a single car component as reason behind his major issues, maybe once again the brakes, Hamilton denied.
In fact, he didn’t want to save any part of his SF-25.
”Nothing is really working.”
No silver linings
Not even rain conditions, in which Hamilton had performed significantly better earlier, could in his opinion assist him in having a recovery race tomorrow in the F1 Hungarian GP.
”I don’t think that anything could help me right now.”
There is joy in the other side of the Ferrari garage, however, as Charles Leclerc has taken his first seasonal pole by two hundreds of a second over the McLaren drivers.
A good day for Leclerc
Hamilton was pleased about the result, and overjoyed for the entirety of the Italian team.
”It’s amazing for the team, clearly the car is capable of being on pole. Big congrats to Charles.”
He returned to his rather downbeat mood once he was the focus of the conversation again, as he admitted he had never felt in a contention for a result better than his P12 so far in the F1 Hungarian GP weekend.
”Not once this weekend, no. All weekend.”
The Ferrari driver also discussed the radio message he had delivered after his Q2 elimination. He explained that he had felt especially upset because it’s not the first time it has happened to him to have such a small last minute mistake.
”Oh, it’s me all the time. Yeah, useless. Absolutely useless.”
“We’re a team that has no problem with seeing the cars on pole, so we probably need to change driver,” he concluded, expressing his disappointment in his performance.
