The 2026 IndyCar season will feature 17 rounds as the calendar for next year has been released.
While the season starts at St. Pete as has become tradition, there has been plenty of changes after that. Thermal Club and Iowa have dropped off the calendar along with Tornoto.
For the first time since 2018, IndyCar will race at Phoenix Raceway. It’s part of a joint weekend with NASCAR. A race on the streets of Arlington follows a week later on March 15th.
The first race in Markham, Canada marks round 14 of the season in mid-August.
Laguna Seca returns to the season finale slot. It will be held on the 6th of September. Will Power took his second and final title with Team Penske at this location in 2022. It was also the last race in 2023, marking a return after 3 years.
After hosting the last race in the 2024 and 2025 seasons, Nashville has been moved to the 19th of July next year. It will be round 12 of 17 in the season.
17 races in just over 6 months marks a very busy schedule for all teams and drivers.

Doug Boles gives his thoughts
“Once again INDYCAR will have the most challenging schedule in all of motorsports with its nearly even mix of ovals, road courses and street circuits,” IndyCar president Doug Boles said. “This championship format and diverse schedule test driver and team adaptability and truly celebrate the most complete driver and team at the end of the season.”
