Fortec Motorsports has confirmed that Jack Taylor will return to the team in 2026 as he moves up to the GB3 Championship. The announcement marks an important step in the young Australian driver’s career after two seasons of steady progress in GB4.

Taylor will initially contest the opening three rounds of the season while continuing discussions with partners and sponsors to secure funding for a full campaign.

Progress through the GB4 ranks and valuable winter experience in CTFROT

Taylor has raced with Fortec Motorsports in the GB4 Championship for the past two years. In 2024, he made a significant commitment to his racing ambitions by relocating from his family home in Launceston, Tasmania, to the United Kingdom.

During his rookie season, the 17-year-old quickly adapted to the competitive series. He secured his first podium finish and consistently challenged inside the top ten, ultimately recording more than a dozen top-10 results.

He then built on that foundation in 2025. Over the course of the season, Taylor achieved two race victories, claimed two pole positions and added two further podium finishes. As a result, he established himself as a regular contender at the front of the field.

Over the winter break, Taylor returned closer to home to gain additional experience in the 2026 Formula Regional Oceania Trophy (CTFROT) in New Zealand. The championship regularly attracts talented young drivers preparing for international single-seater careers.

During the campaign, Taylor secured pole position at Taupō and delivered two top-five finishes at Teretonga. These results helped him finish third in the Rookie standings, further strengthening his preparation for the next stage of his career.

Now, Taylor prepares for a new challenge in the GB3 Championship, a series known for its demanding circuits and highly competitive grid.

Fortec Motorsports Team Principal Oliver Dutton believes the young driver has earned the opportunity.

“Jack has developed enormously over the past two seasons with us,” Dutton said. “His progression from consistent points-finisher to race winner shows both his natural ability and his commitment to improvement.”

He added that while GB3 represents a significant step forward, the team is confident Taylor can rise to the challenge.

“Our focus will be on helping him adapt quickly and build momentum from the opening rounds.”

Meanwhile, Taylor expressed his enthusiasm about continuing his journey with the team that has supported his development.

“I’m very excited to return to Fortec Motorsports, who have been fantastic over the past two seasons,” he said. “We’ve worked well together and I’ve made a lot of progress thanks to the team’s support.”

He also highlighted the value of his winter racing programme and the anticipation of returning to competition in Britain.

“I’ve had a strong winter racing in New Zealand and I’m looking forward to lining up on the grid at Silverstone in April,” Taylor added, while thanking sponsors Megapoxy and European Stone Masons for their support.

With strong momentum behind him and a familiar team around him, Taylor now turns his focus to making a successful transition to GB3 as the 2026 season begins.
