Crosslink Motorsports has confirmed that Kekai Hauanio will return to the team for the 2026 season, this time stepping up to compete in the Formula Regional Americas Championship (FRAC). Hauanio moves up following an impressive 2025 campaign in the F4 U.S. Championship, where he not only secured multiple race victories but also finished third overall in the championship standings. His consistent performance and rapid development made the transition to FR Americas a natural next step within the Crosslink Motorsports programme.

The jump to Formula Regional machinery represents a significant challenge for any young driver. Cars at this level deliver increased power and greater aerodynamic grip, while the competition features a stronger, more experienced field. For Hauanio, the move provides the perfect platform to continue his progression in open-wheel racing and to test himself against some of the most promising talent in North America.

Hauanio will make his FR Americas debut at NOLA Motorsports Park from 9–12 April. Prior to the season opener, he will take part in an official pre-season test at the same circuit in late March, a crucial opportunity to acclimatise to the car and refine his racecraft. He has also completed an extensive off-season testing programme designed to familiarise him with the car’s handling characteristics and to prepare for the higher level of competition.

Reflecting on the step up, Hauanio said, “I am incredibly grateful to return with Crosslink Motorsports and take this next step in FR Americas. Last season gave me a lot of confidence, and I am ready to challenge myself in a faster car against tough competition. Testing at NOLA will be important for learning the car, and I am looking forward to making my debut there in April.”

Crosslink Motorsports’ team owner, Gill Kaszuba, expressed confidence in Hauanio’s ability to compete at the front of the field.

“We are very excited to have Kekai back with us for 2026,” Kaszuba said. “He proved last year that he has the talent, discipline, and racecraft to compete at the front. Finishing third in F4 with multiple wins was a huge accomplishment, and we believe he is more than ready for this next step into FR Americas. Our goal is to continue building on that momentum and put him in a position to fight for strong results right away.”

Kaszuba’s comments highlight the team’s belief not only in Hauanio’s speed but also in his ability to handle the increased technical and mental demands of Formula Regional racing. For Crosslink Motorsports, continuity between driver and team is key to ensuring a smooth transition and sustained performance growth.

Looking ahead

With the continuity of driver and team, and the momentum from a successful 2025 season, Crosslink Motorsports and Kekai Hauanio are poised for an exciting 2026 campaign. Hauanio’s debut in FR Americas represents more than a step up in machinery; it is an opportunity to build on previous success, further develop his skills, and challenge for podium finishes from the outset. Fans can expect a competitive season filled with speed, strategy, and promising performances.
