It has been announced that Lance Stroll will take part in his home race, the F1 Canadian GP. Stroll did not participate in the Spanish GP last weekend due to alleged issues with the fractures he sustained pre-season in 2023.
Lance Stroll’s medical status: what we know
While Aston Martin has failed to confirm the exact nature of Stroll’s medical DNS last weekend, the running assumption is that it his related to his cycling incident before the 2023 season. According to Mike Krack, Stroll had been experiencing pain for the past few weeks.
Lance Stroll’s poor conduct in the Aston Martin garage was once again flagged in Barcelona. The Canadian driver lost his temper and damaged team equipment following his Q2 exit. This hails back to his controversial 2023 Qatar GP incident, where the driver was seen causing an altercation with his trainer as he left the garage, later apologizing for the incident.
Nonetheless, Stroll will participate in what will be his seventh F1 Canadian GP. Historically, Stroll has found success at his home Grand Prix, scoring points in five of them, with one DNF. He is currently ahead of veteran teammate Fernando Alonso with 14 points.
Aston Martin confirms Lance Stroll return for F1 Canadian GP
Through a post on X from Aston Martin across their social media channels, Lance Stroll talked about his return this weekend as he looks to score points at home like Fernando Alonso did at his home Grand Prix in Barcelona last time out.
“I am excited to get back behind the wheel with the team for my home Grand Prix this weekend. I was always going to fight hard to be ready to race in front of the Montreal crowd. I’m feeling good after my procedure and put some laps in at Paul Ricard this week to prepare. Thanks for all the support, see you guys this weekend!”
