As reported by Sportscar365, Lionspeed GP has confirmed an impressive driver line-up for its return to the Nürburgring 24, signalling clear ambitions for outright victory in the 2026 edition of the endurance classic. After a year away, the team returns stronger, combining Porsche factory talent with proven race-winning experience.

Star power strengthens the entry as Lionspeed GP targets success in 2026 Nürburgring 24

Leading the line-up, Laurens Vanthoor joins the team with an outstanding Nürburgring 24 pedigree. The Belgian previously claimed overall victory in 2015 and finished second during his most recent appearance in 2024, underlining his consistency at the demanding Nordschleife.

Importantly, this will mark Vanthoor’s first outing with Lionspeed GP, as he takes the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo for the highly anticipated May 16–17 race.

Alongside him, Laurin Heinrich adds further factory strength. Although relatively new to the event, Heinrich already has experience of the Nürburgring 24, having competed in 2023 alongside Vanthoor. His familiarity with both the car and co-driver should prove valuable as the team prepares for the challenge ahead.

Meanwhile, Ricardo Feller provides continuity within the squad. The Swiss driver, who raced with Lionspeed GP in GT World Challenge Europe last season, brings valuable knowledge of the team’s operations and setup.

Feller also boasts an impressive Nürburgring 24 record, having secured overall victory in 2024. His experience, combined with his Porsche affiliation, further strengthens the team’s credentials.

Previously, Lionspeed GP has enjoyed success at the Nürburgring 24, including two class victories in the SP9 Pro-Am category. However, the focus for 2026 shifts firmly towards overall honours. With a balanced trio of experienced winners and factory-backed talent, the team appears well-positioned to challenge at the front of the field.

A promising return

In summary, Lionspeed GP’s return to the Nürburgring 24 is backed by a formidable combination of skill, experience and ambition. As the countdown to the race begins, the team stands ready to transform past success into a genuine bid for overall victory on one of motorsport’s most demanding stages.
