Mallorca-born rising star Lucas Fluxa will complete his maiden season in the GB3 Championship with Hillspeed, after the multiple race-winning team confirmed the 16-year-old will join its line-up for the final two events of the 2025 campaign.

New chapter for Fluxa

Fluxa, who has impressed throughout his debut season in the UK’s leading single-seater series, will represent the Markham Vale-based outfit at Donington Park (4–5 October) and at the season finale at Monza (18–19 October). Currently sitting just outside the top 10 in the standings, the Spaniard has already demonstrated his raw pace with several points-scoring results and a best finish of fifth at Silverstone earlier this year.

Despite being only in his second season of car racing, Fluxa arrived in GB3 with an impressive record from the F4 Spanish Championship, where he took two victories, two further podiums and a pole position on his way to eighth overall in the standings. Prior to that, he built a strong reputation in karting, enjoying six years of competition at international level.

The move marks a significant step for Fluxa as he seeks to close out his rookie year strongly and build momentum for the future.

Hillspeed’s winning pedigree

Hillspeed has been one of the standout teams of the 2025 GB3 season. The squad began the year in style when Freddie Slater claimed a double pole and two lights-to-flag wins at the Silverstone opener. Slater added a remarkable third win from the back of the grid at Spa, where Kanato Le also took his maiden GB3 victory and a brace of podiums in a dream weekend for the team.

Further success followed with Michael Shin’s first podium during the second Silverstone round, while at Brands Hatch both Slater and Hiyu Yamakoshi featured at the sharp end, with Slater twice finishing on the podium and Yamakoshi narrowly missing out with a best of fourth.

This winning pedigree offers Fluxa an ideal platform to push higher up the grid in the remaining six races of the season.

Reaction from Hillspeed

Team Principal Richard Ollerenshaw expressed his delight at adding Fluxa to the line-up for the final stretch of the campaign, emphasising both the youngster’s potential and the team’s excitement at working with him.

“We’re delighted to have signed a deal for Lucas to race with Hillspeed in GB3 for the last two meetings of the season. He’s a fantastic young talent, great speed and ability and a strong pedigree from F4 and his formative career in karts. We’ve watched him closely this season in GB3 and are now relishing the opportunity to get Lucas in a Hillspeed car and see what we can do at Donington and Monza.”

Fluxa looks ahead

Fluxa himself is relishing the opportunity to compete in Hillspeed colours and believes the move will give him the chance to raise his performance even further in the closing races of his first GB3 season.

“I’m very excited to join Hillspeed for the next rounds of the championship, the visits to Donington and Monza, for a final push. I’ve enjoyed my first year in GB3, and have delivered some good performances, but I’m aiming even higher with this new opportunity to drive for Hillspeed. The team has shown what it is capable of with wins and podiums this season, so I’m looking forward to working with the guys and pushing for the best results we possibly can over the final six races.”

Fluxa will make his first appearance as a Hillspeed driver on Thursday 11 September, when he takes part in a test session at Donington Park. With the team’s proven pace and his own upward trajectory, expectations are high that the Spanish teenager can end his maiden GB3 season with a flourish.
