The inaugural Michelin 12H Malaysia at Sepang International Circuit is set to feature a 21-car grid, just under two weeks before the first round of the 2025/2026 Michelin 24H Series Middle East Trophy. Organisers Creventic confirm that the event will showcase both experienced racers and newcomers eager to make their mark.
The headline GT3 class will feature a double-digit line-up. Malaysia’s Viper Niza Racing, based in Shah Alam, will headline with its Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO, driven by local trio Douglas Khoo, Melvin Moh and Dominic Ang in the No.65 car.
Regional teams and international stars in GT3 in 2026 24H Series with starts with 12H Malaysia
A strong contingent from Asia joins the fray. Hong Kong’s Absolute Racing fields two Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) cars, including one under the B-Quik Absolute Racing banner. The No.26 B-Quik car will see Dutchman Henk Kiks, China’s Andy Deng, and France’s Alessandro Ghiretti behind the wheel. Their sister car will include Hong Kong’s Antares Au, reigning Middle East Trophy Drivers’ Champion Loek Hartog, and Switzerland’s Patric Niederhauser.
China’s Origine enters an all-Chinese Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) with Liu Hangcheng, Lu Wei, Bo Yuan, and Leo Ye Hongli. Climax Racing adds a Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO for Mike Zhou, Li Lichao, Finland’s Elias Seppänen, and Thai driver Tanart Sathienthirakul. In addition, Japan’s LM Corsa is represented by a Ferrari 296 GT3, piloted by Kei Nakanishi, Shigekazu Wakisaka, and Germany’s Dominik Schwager.
Furthermore, the race also marks the GT3 debut of former Indy 500 winner and ex-F1 driver Marcus Ericsson, who joins his brother Hampus, along with Swedes Axel Bengtsson and Thomas Karlsson, in Leipert Motorsport’s Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2.
European teams bring experience and challenge
German powerhouse Herberth Motorsport returns with a Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) driven by Ralf Bohn, Constantin Dressler, and twin brothers Alfred and Robert Renauer. Audi will be represented by UAE-based Continental Racing by Simpson Motorsport, with an Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II for Vasily Vladykin, Alexander Bukhantsov, Damian Ciosek, and multiple GT champion James Winslow.
In addition, a third Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO comes from India’s Ajith Red Ant Racing, featuring Tamil actor Ajith Kumar, Belgian brothers Ayrton and Yannick Redant, and Kobe de Breucker.
GT3 Cup, GT4, TCE, and GTX classes for 12H Malaysia at 24H Series
The 992 class will host five Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) entries. Hong Kong’s Modena Motorsports competes with Dutchman Francis Tjia, Dane Benny Simonsen, and Canadians John Shen and Christian Chia. China’s 610 Racing enters an all-Chinese quintet. Veteran series entrants Red Camel-Jordans.nl and Mühlner Motorsport will also contest, with Mühlner fielding two cars.
In GT4, Germany’s Team Sorg Rennsport runs a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport (982) with Ivan Stanchin, Ivan Krapivtsev, and Benito Tagle, while Cerny Motorsport competes with a BMW M4 GT4 (G82), driven by American Alec Udell and Spencer Propper, plus Australians Damien John Hamilton and Bryce Fullwood.
Next, the TCE-TCX class features Germany’s asBest Racing, reigning champions, with a Cupra TCR DSG for Lutz Obermann, Pia Ohlsson, and Japan’s Junichi Umemoto. Vortex V8 will race in GTX with its Vortex 2.0 piloted by French trio Lionel Amrouche, Philippe Bonnel, and Victor Moutinho.
Sepang Circuit: A spectacular opening
Sepang International Circuit, a 5.5-kilometre track with 15 turns, promises dramatic racing and overtaking opportunities. Pre-event CR Track Days will run on Wednesday, 3 December, and Thursday, 4 December. Qualifying begins at 16:00 local time on Friday, 5 December, with all classes sharing the track across three sessions, including a night practice. Racing kicks off at 10:00 on Saturday, 6 December.
