Diego de la Torre concluded two productive days of non-mandatory testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya at the top of the timesheets, underlining both his pace and consistency ahead of the new season.
The Team Motopark driver improved marginally on his Friday benchmark, setting a best lap of 1:31.847 during Saturday’s second session. Notably, stable and favourable track conditions allowed drivers to push consistently, which resulted in extremely tight margins across the field.
After stepping out of the car, de la Torre expressed optimism about both his development and the team’s preparation.
“It was good to be able to do a lot of work over the winter. I have a sense that we improved in a lot of areas, and to have done a very good work with the engineers. It’s very promising ahead of the season. Can’t wait to be a Portimão and get started!”
His performance not only secured the fastest time but also positioned him as a key contender heading into the opening round. He also topped Day 1.
Motopark shows strength on Day 2 of 2026 Euroformula Open Barcelona testing as field closes in
Motopark reinforced its competitive edge by placing multiple drivers near the top of the standings. Enzo Yeh, also representing the team, finished just 0.015 seconds behind de la Torre, highlighting the razor-thin gaps that defined the test.
Meanwhile, BVM Racing emerged as a strong challenger. Javier Herrera delivered an impressive late push on Day 2 to claim third place overall, while Everett Stack ensured Motopark maintained a strong presence in fourth.
Additionally, BVM newcomer Divy Nandan rounded out the top five, marking a solid debut performance and signalling potential for the races ahead.
Day 2 Test Results
- Diego de la Torre (Team Motopark) – 1:31.847

- Javier Herrera (BVM Racing) – +0.134
- Everett Stack (Motopark) – +0.139

With such minimal gaps separating the frontrunners, the competitive picture remains wide open. However, Motopark’s early form suggests they will be the team to beat. Attention now shifts to the season opener at Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, where testing promise will finally be put to the test in race conditions.
