René Lammers will remain with MP Motorsport as he takes the next step in his single-seater career, confirming his promotion to the Eurocup-3 Championship for the 2026 season. The 17-year-old from Zandvoort continues his progression within the Dutch team after an impressive campaign in the F4 Spanish Championship, where he fought for the title until the final weekend.
By staying within a familiar environment, Lammers and MP Motorsport aim to build on a relationship that has already delivered strong performances. Moreover, the move reflects a clear strategy focused on continuity, development and competitiveness at the next level.
A standout 2025 F4 Spanish campaign sees Lammer earn Eurocup-3 promotion with MP Motorsport
During the 2025 season, Lammers emerged as one of the standout drivers in Spanish Formula 4. He ran second in the championship standings throughout the year and remained firmly in title contention despite a difficult start to the season. A sequence of post-race penalties cost him no fewer than three victories, significantly impacting his points tally.
Nevertheless, Lammers responded with consistency and resilience. He secured four race wins, nine podium finishes and a fastest lap, while also gaining a reputation for exceptional racecraft. In fact, he made up more positions than any other frontrunner over the course of the season, often delighting spectators with bold and decisive overtaking manoeuvres.
Strengthening MP Motorsport’s Eurocup-3 line-up
Lammers joins Gianmarco Pradel and Ean Eyckmans in MP Motorsport’s growing Eurocup-3 squad, with a fourth driver announcement expected soon. Importantly, MP enters the new season as the benchmark team in the championship, having led the series in the previous year.
“It’s great to remain part of the MP family for my next step up the single-seater ladder”, said Lammers. “It makes sense to make the move up in an environment that has become very familiar to me in the past two seasons. What’s even better is that MP has been the leading team in Eurocup-3 last year and knows all about winning in this series. Together, we aim to make similar waves this season. I’m ready for it, and I know the team is too.”
MP Motorsport Team Principal Sander Dorsman welcomed the promotion with enthusiasm and confidence in Lammers’ potential.
“It’s an absolute joy that René will stay with us as he progresses to Eurocup-3”, said Dorsman. “He truly deserves this promotion after having driven his heart out in F4 Spanish last year. His attacking style was a pleasure to watch, and I’m certain that style will translate well to the more powerful Eurocup-3 cars – in fact, I believe they will suit him even better. We will face some strong competition in the series this year, but we relish a good fight, as does René, so bring on the new season!”
A career built on success
Lammers’ rise through the ranks follows an outstanding karting career. In 2020 alone, he claimed the WSK Euro Series, Andrea Margutti Trophy, Trofeo d’Estate and Trofeo d’Autunno in the Mini category. He continued to dominate in junior karting before stepping up to OK machinery, where he became FIA European Champion, FIA Vice World Champion and FIA Rookie of the Year in 2023.
After graduating to Formula 4 in 2024, Lammers steadily refined his craft, culminating in his 2025 title challenge. Now, as preparations gather pace, MP Motorsport and René Lammers focus firmly on translating momentum into results. With a proven partnership and a driver renowned for fearless racing, the 2026 Eurocup-3 season promises to be a significant chapter in Lammers’ rapidly developing career.
