Nicola Larcorte is set to make his return to the Formula 3 grid with DAMS Lucas Oil in 2026.

Lacorte made his series debut with the team in 2025 with the backing of the Alpine Driver Academy. This move proved to be a real test for the Italian driver from Italian F4 and Formula Regional. The first half of his debut season was one of penalties. After collecting numerous penalty points in the first half of the season, Lacorte’s collision with PREMA Racing’s Brando Badoer added a 12th point to his record. This resulted in a race ban. As a result, the Italian missed the 2025 F3 Austrian GP, with Nikita Johnson stepping in as his replacement.

The second half of the season, however, showed signs of improvement for the Italian driver. Silverstone showed his best performance of the season. Lacorte had finished the Feature race in P15 after an impressive recovery drive from P27.

Larcorte on resigning with DAMS Lucas Oil

Despite having a debut season that was overshadowed by penalties, the Italian driver is aiming to bring his experiences with him as he continues on with the team in 2026. His goal for the next season is straightforward: improve.

“It’s an honour to continue with DAMS Lucas Oil. The 2025 season has taught me a great deal, about discipline, consistency and managing unpredictable race situations. My goal for 2026 is clear: build on this experience, improve at every race and target strong results.”

DAMS Lucas Oil Team Principal Charles Pic on Lacorte’s return

DAMS Lucas Oil Team Principal Charles Pic also took the time to praise Lacorte’s attitude when speaking on resigning him. Pic also spoke on how the Lacorte’s contract renewal highlighted the team’s investments in driver development.

“Nicola’s continuation reflects our ambition to invest long-term in young driver development. His analytical abilities and constant dedication throughout the 2025 season, even in difficult circumstances, demonstrated that he possesses the qualities required to progress within a highly professional environment.”
