Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Ninovic added another triumph to his outstanding 2025 GB3 season, taking victory in Race One at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. His ninth win of the campaign came after intense pressure from Patrick Heuzenroeder, but the champion demonstrated composure, race awareness, and control to prevail once again.
Reflecting on the tense contest, Ninovic acknowledged the difficulty of leading at Monza, especially without the aid of DRS.
“Oh yeah, it was definitely a tough race. To lead at Monza is very tricky with no DRS and trying to keep everyone off behind you in the train is definitely hard, but I managed quite well and I didn’t stress too much. I tried to make as little mistakes as I could and maximise where I could when I saw Pat made a mistake or something.”
Monza often rewards patience and precision, and Ninovic’s strategy reflected both qualities.
Executing the perfect balance
Throughout the race, Ninovic balanced aggression with restraint, carefully managing the pressure applied by Heuzenroeder. As he explained, it was about maximising every small opportunity and staying calm when it mattered most. The Rodin driver understood that one small mistake could have altered the result completely.
“So yeah, the last couple of laps I knew I could put my foot down a bit more and pull a gap, which was good to know that we have a bit more left in it and yeah, I can’t be happy enough to get another win. Same again tomorrow morning? Hopefully, that will happen.”
By conserving his tyres and avoiding unnecessary risks, Ninovic created the margin he needed only when it became safe to do so. Consequently, his tactical execution underlined the discipline of a true champion.
Looking ahead with confidence
After securing his ninth win, Ninovic’s focus immediately turned to the next day’s race. His reference to “same again tomorrow morning” reflected not arrogance, but confidence rooted in preparation and consistency. With Rodin Motorsport delivering a strong car and Ninovic performing at his peak, there is every indication he can add to his tally before the season closes.
His ability to remain composed in the face of relentless pressure from behind symbolises why he leads both on and off the track. Despite knowing that Monza’s slipstreaming nature can quickly change a race, Ninovic’s calm handling of each restart and lap showed his growth as a complete driver.
The reward of composure and a strong strategy at Monza
Alex Ninovic’s victory at Monza demonstrated that speed alone is not enough — composure and strategy are equally vital. By controlling the pace, managing his rival, and remaining unflustered under pressure, he once again proved why he is the 2025 GB3 Champion. As he looks to complete the season with a tenth and possibly eleventh victory, his combination of focus, skill, and tactical maturity continues to set the standard for the grid.
