Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Ninovic delivered another masterful performance in the 2025 GB3 Championship, claiming victory in Race 1 at Donington Park to further strengthen his grip on the title fight. The Australian driver’s seventh win of the season extended his championship lead to 85 points, placing him within touching distance of clinching the crown with one round still to spare.

Commanding drive from start to finish

Starting from pole position, Ninovic made a clean getaway and quickly established control of the race. Within two laps, he had pulled a 2.7-second gap over Argenti’s Reza Seewooruthun, who was closely followed by Noah Lisle of JHR Developments. Despite two safety car interruptions, Ninovic remained unshaken. He mastered both restarts, reasserting his dominance each time and eventually crossing the line under caution with a comfortable advantage.

Reflecting on his performance, Ninovic expressed delight at how the race unfolded: “Yeah, definitely super happy with the result today. I couldn’t have asked for more really. The car felt amazing from the get-go and then from there we just kept consistent and grew the gap. So, yeah, perfect day really.”

Although the race was largely uneventful for the leader, Ninovic admitted that managing the pace from the front required focus and precision: “Yeah, well, we got a good start and from there the pace was so strong that, yeah, whereas I couldn’t really keep up. So from there it was just a race of my own and just trying to manage everything. So, yeah, really happy.”

Strong podium battles behind the leader

While Ninovic led comfortably, Reza Seewooruthun produced a confident drive to finish second, only 0.639 seconds behind at the flag after the late safety car. Noah Lisle completed the podium, holding off intense pressure from Deagen Fairclough throughout the race.

Further back, Patrick Heuzenroeder took fourth for Xcel Motorsport but lost further ground in the title chase, while Lucas Fluxa impressed with a storming drive from 12th to fifth on his debut for Hillspeed. Rodin teammates Abbi Pulling and Gianmarco Pradel also charged through the field from deep on the grid to finish seventh and eighth, adding to a strong team showing.

Championship picture

With yet another win added to his tally, Ninovic’s championship advantage has now grown to 85 points. Should he extend that margin to 102 points or more by the end of the Donington weekend, he will secure the GB3 title early—an outcome that would underline his dominance throughout the 2025 season.

As he looks ahead to Race 2, where Seewooruthun will start from pole, Ninovic remains focused but optimistic: “Yeah, hopefully it’s dry, get a good start, hopefully get around him by turn one and do the same sort of thing. But, yeah, we’ll see how that goes.”

When asked whether Rodin Motorsport has shown stronger pace in dry conditions, the Australian gave an honest assessment: “I would say I’m probably a little bit stronger than I am in the wet. But, yeah, we’re pretty fast in both conditions, but probably the dry suits a little bit better.”

Eyes on the Championship

With just a few races left in the 2025 GB3 campaign, Ninovic’s composure, consistency, and outright speed have set him apart. His Donington Park triumph marks not only another victory but also a critical step toward securing the championship title. If his form continues, the Rodin Motorsport driver could very well wrap up the championship before the final round—cementing his status as one of the standout talents of the 2025 season.
