The GB3 Championship’s visit to the Hungaroring not only delivered thrilling on-track action but also produced a sweep of awards for some of the 2025 season’s standout performers. Across three days of racing, Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Ninovic and Gianmarco Pradel both collected major accolades, while Reza Seewooruthun’s dominant breakthrough victory highlighted the strength of Argenti with Prema.

Consequently, three of the championship’s most important honours — the Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup, the Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award, and the Omologato One to Watch Award — all found new recipients in Hungary, further shaping the narrative of the year.

Ninovic takes Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup lead

Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Ninovic strengthened his growing reputation at the Hungaroring by moving into the outright lead of the Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup. In particular, the Australian delivered when it mattered most, securing his third pole of the season in Q2 with a record-breaking lap of 1m37.445s. That effort placed him at the front for Race 2, which he later converted into his third victory of the campaign.

As a result, Ninovic now sits one pole clear of Hillspeed’s Freddie Slater, who had opened the season at Silverstone by taking both poles. Meanwhile, Hitech TGR’s Keanu Al Azhari also entered the fight by claiming his maiden pole in Q1, before going on to record two podium finishes across the weekend.

Furthermore, both Ninovic and Al Azhari collected a trophy and £300 each for their efforts. At the end of the season, the driver with the most poles will receive a £2,000 prize, matched by the same amount for their team.

Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup Standings

  1. Alex Ninovic, Rodin Motorsport – 3 poles
  2. Freddie Slater, Hillspeed – 2 poles
  3. Patrick Heuzenroeder, Xcel Motorsport – 1 pole
    =. Kanato Le, Hillspeed – 1 pole
=. Keanu Al Azhari, Hitech TGR – 1 pole

Ninovic collects Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award

Ninovic’s weekend became even more rewarding as he also claimed his first Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award. Significantly, the Rodin driver set a new GB3 lap record in Race 2, clocking a 1m38.121s effort that eclipsed Louis Sharp’s previous benchmark by almost a second and a half. His pace edged Al Azhari by just 0.052s, underlining the fine margins at the sharp end of the field.

Elsewhere, Ninovic’s teammate Gianmarco Pradel set the best lap in Race 1 with a 1m38.951s, while runaway Race 3 winner Reza Seewooruthun recorded a 1m39.726s.

The prize, presented by GB3’s control fuel supplier, is given to the driver who sets the fastest lap across the entire event. Consequently, Ninovic became the third different driver to secure the accolade in 2025, following Freddie Slater and Patrick Heuzenroeder earlier in the year.

2025 Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award Winners

  • Silverstone – Freddie Slater, 1m52.802s
  • Zandvoort – Patrick Heuzenroeder, 1m31.824s
  • Spa-Francorchamps – Freddie Slater, 2m15.048s
  • Hungaroring – Alex Ninovic, 1m38.121s

Pradel named Omologato One to Watch

Gianmarco Pradel capped off a breakthrough weekend by winning the Omologato One to Watch Award. The Rodin Motorsport driver sealed his maiden GB3 win in Race 1 and followed up with third place in Race 2, collecting 59 points in total.

That tally, therefore, put him just ahead of his teammate Ninovic, who scored 56 points from his fourth in Race 1 and victory in Race 2. Moreover, the award reflected Pradel’s consistency across both races rather than a single standout moment.

The award, introduced in 2024, rewards the top points-scorer across the first two races of each event. As part of his success, Pradel received a motorsport-inspired timepiece from Omologato, the UK’s leading motorsport-focused watchmaker.

Omologato One to Watch Award Winners – 2025

  • Silverstone – Freddie Slater (70 pts)
  • Zandvoort – Patrick Heuzenroeder (64 pts)
  • Spa-Francorchamps – Alex Ninovic (59 pts)
  • Hungaroring – Gianmarco Pradel (59 pts)

A strong weekend for Rodin Motorsport

The Hungaroring weekend marked a clean sweep for Rodin Motorsport in the major GB3 prizes, with Ninovic collecting both the Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup lead and the Sunoco Fastest Driver Award, and Pradel securing the Omologato One to Watch. Meanwhile, Reza Seewooruthun’s dominant Race 3 victory ensured Argenti with Prema also left Hungary with silverware.

As the championship moves into its second half, the battle for poles, fastest laps, and consistent points scoring continues to intensify, promising more dramatic storylines across the remainder of the season.
